Okiraku Ryoushu no Tanoshii Ryouchi Bouei: Seisankei Majutsu de Na mo Naki Mura wo Saikyou no Jousai Toshi ni

Rather than relying on empty battles, this story derives its appeal from the process: how simple strengths evolve into the foundation of great power through logical, step-by-step progression. The transition from an unnamed region to a fortress city feels tangible, not instantaneous, so that every step of progress offers its own sense of satisfaction. Although the plot isn’t entirely original and can sometimes be predictable, the execution remains fresh thanks to a focus on strategy, resource management, and world-building elements rarely explored in depth within this genre. The visuals are simple yet effectively highlight the world’s development, while the main character comes across as a ... clever figure who capitalizes on limitations, rather than just being an overpowered character without direction. Supporting characters also react quite realistically, making the world feel alive. It’s certainly not the top choice for those seeking fast-paced action, but for fans of progress that “feels hard-won,” this anime offers a solid and satisfying experience.

This series gets my vote for 'best anime name', but that's not what we're here to review. ETDOL:PMTNVSFC is a pretty standard isekai power fantasy romp, differentiating itself from the competition with its lighthearted tone and a focus on broader military strategy and city-building as opposed to flashy one-on-one battles.

ETDOL:PMTNVSFC is pretty average when it comes to most things. It's a bit bland, but inoffensive. The characters are charming enough, the comedy's decent, and it was altogether a pleasant watch. I like Arte's development, I think that was handled rather well. I appreciate that the series seems to know how absurd it is, from the ... name to the premise, and doesn't take itself too seriously.

My biggest criticisms would be regarding the magic system and how it relates to the core premise. We're told production magic is considered worthless because it's already possible to make things through manual labor, but anyone can tell that's incredibly dumb and being able to magically produce equipment would be an incredible power in any circumstance. The show provides a second, alternative explanation, which is that it can only really be taken advantage of by an individual like Van with a massive mana pool, but that just comes off as a bit lame to me. I get it's meant to be a power fantasy, but we're really going with "the MC is the world's only super special boy who can turn this useless power super OP"? That same idea also seems to run contrary to the actual main theme of the show, that any skill can be worthwhile if used properly.

At the end of the day, ETDOL:PMTNVSFC is a fine show. Nothing impressive, but I wouldn't call any aspect of it particularly bad, either. It was a nice show, but I'll probably forget about it.

as i was watching that last episode, i could feel the 4/10 leaving my body to be replaced by a 2/10. this show just has nothing, the writing is poor, the animation is poor, the intro and outro songs are bad, the combat scenes are hardly animated and feature people standing out in the open as if arrows had never been invented. as far as the question of "was this a waste of time", yes, completely.

while i have deeper, more complex reasons to think the show is trash now that ive seen all the episodes, the issues started as early as episode 1. having ... van kicked out of his household immediately upon getting his magic without demonstrating its scale is a conceit the show requires in order to start, but it doesn't make it good writing. it's necessary to skip a lot of poor character writing to get to the next major issue, but having done that, we see him construct stone, iron, concrete and steel objects using wood and dirt. they are described as being facaded, but in so far as the way they perform, even his wooden swords are described as top quality. barring mythril which they at least convey as being superior to his other creations, it's best to treat his ability as atomic reconfiguration, akin to the daughter of a hero and goddess isekai. that should be a concerning comparison, as a washed out nobles son should likely not have an ability in the realm of godliness, but thats the kind of show this is.

one of the worst parts is how avoidable all these issues are. the walls of the castle town he makes could have been done via rocks produced by earth magic, but instead he turns dirt into concrete. the iron sword he makes from wood could have instead been a carbon fiber or diamond blade. discounting carbon fiber for a second, the balistea arrows he makes could have been obsidian and the string of the balistea could have been animal hide, but everything really is made of dirt and wood.

its a garbage show, watch something else. the characters aren't enjoyable, the plot starts bad and gets worse, there is no moment of surprise or engaging romance, it's trashikai and thats all you get.
