Saran Mithray (サラン・ミスレイ)Retice Knight Commander of the Retice Kingdom, as well as the mentor to Akira Oda. Being the one of the only ones to notice Akira's skill, he decides to take him under his wing.
After affiliating himself with Akira, the Commander is then assassinated presumable by the King, and Akira is chased out of the Kingdom into the abyss.
