I know it’s all a joke, but people do sometimes try to judge people’s preferences of what they find sexually attractive based on something like political correctness. Which is just plain stupid. It’s something you’re not consciously in control of.

You may be one of the hottest porn stars, but if you push MAGA trash down my throat, I’ll see you as one of the ugliest ones.

There’s a reason the whole “I hope this doesn’t awaken something in me,” joke exists. You don’t decide what you find attractive. You discover it. There’s no choice in the matter.

Well yeah but it is your choice whether to follow that desire. Like I really want to empty a bottle of Nutella into my mouth, but I am not actually going to do it.

Well not with that loser attitude. Man up and tell the beetus to get thee behind me. Take a silicone spatula with you so you can really get into the corners.

Of course you do. Someone can be attracted to unhealthy things and have to deal with that too. Like scat for example. They can can even be attracted to blatantly dangerous or immoral things, like necrophilia or pedophila. They should seek counseling to make sure they can control those urges.

That goes for pedophilia too. They don’t choose it. Doesn’t mean it should be acted upon when your attraction is inherently dangerous or immoral. They should seek counseling to try to prevent acting out their urges. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I have to say i am very proud of all of you. Most of the time if pedophilia comes up, the common reaction is rage and vigilantism. Seeing so many of you saying that pedophiles didn’t choose to be this way and that they need therapy is kinda wholesome compared to the discussions i already had to endure.

I fully agree, but there are so many people out there conflating the two terms. Sexual abuse of children (and women) often has no connection to pedophilia at all - it’s awful people getting off on the power imbalance.

like the whole you’re a bigot because you don’t want to date a woman who has a penis thing?

I think bigotry to me means basically when one begins to overshare their particular preferences (with implications that they speak on behalf of everyone) seemingly in an attempt to impose their expectations or beliefs onto a broader group of persons of widely varying backgrounds, subjective perceptual experiences, and/or values+ideals.

This may be a hot take but if someone’s attracted to children I don’t think that’s very politically correct and I think they should go to therapy to learn how to suppress that attraction.

It’s been my personal experience that sexual attraction is a separate thing from acting on it. Like, I can find my friend’s wife attractive, yet somehow I don’t assault her or pressure her to have sex with me. Even if I found myself in a situation where we were alone and she was unable to resist me.

Even if she took some crazy aphrodisiac and wanted me, but I knew she wasn’t really in control of herself, nothing would happen with me because I know it’s wrong and I have self control. I can say for sure because I’ve been in a similar situation to that, but it was a woman who was desperate to control her sex addiction.

But I’m not a pedophile, maybe it’s different for them.

Rape is a choice by the rapist, news at 11.

I am not making fun of you, btw, that is something basic that lots of people don’t get.

How is that a hot take? Pedophilia isn’t related to politics at all, its a mental disorder. It doesn’t take opinion to judge its “correctness” as it is factually incorrect; as stated by DSM5 and other papers.
