The Orthoscan FD is the first flat-detector mini C-arm ever brought to market and the design template that every flat-detector mini C-arm since has built on. It features a 6-inch by 4-inch flat detector at 2k x 1.5k resolution, 120 degrees of orbital rotation and sterile-field controls that let scrubbed surgeons drive imaging without breaking technique. That combination makes the FD the preferred surgical mini C-arm for hand, wrist, foot, and ankle procedures in operating rooms across the United States.
The President of Minicarm.com is a co-founder of Orthoscan, continues to provide certified-refurbished units, OEM parts, and nationwide on-site service. Our team helped launch the first flat-detector mini C-arm and maintains the largest independent FD parts inventory in the country.
Available for sale, lease, or rent nationwide.

Hey guys, I'm Christopher Bacon, the founder of Orthoscan and the president of Minicarm.com. Today we're going to go over the Orthoscan FD, which is the first flat-panel mini C-arm system.
To turn it on, just press the power button up here on top of the chassis. While it boots up, it takes about a minute or so. We'll go over some articulation of the C-arm. This is about how low it goes, and the height. And here's our orbital rotation, and the wig-wag too.
All right, so we're going to use our hand phantom to do some imaging.
There is a laser button up here that gives you crosshairs approximately in the middle of the field of view.
As you can see, it takes approximately three seconds to get yourself a nice image. Please don't just tap it - you'll get an unsatisfactory image. Also wait approximately a second before you initiate another fluoro. This way it gives the machine time to populate the last-image hold area.
Here we can see the two pad controls: X-ray, rotate clockwise and counterclockwise, you can change the technique up or down, and you can also tag your images. You can also print and save all your imaging.
If you want to rotate the image, you can use the clockwise or counterclockwise image rotate buttons. You can also flip the image. The Negate toggle changes it to look like an X-ray. You can change the edge, which changes the bone grain. We usually keep it on low.
When you're finished with the case, press Case Review. Here you can save specific images by using the arrows to navigate through. If you want to save an image, press the spacebar so it says Tagged. Then come down here and click Save All. And they're saved.
When you want to review all the cases on the machine, press the Recall button. To open a case, press the Enter button and then navigate through. You can print from here, send a DICOM, and USB-save your images.
When you're all done imaging and finished using the machine, just press the green power button. Wait for the fans to shut down, you'll hear them shut down, and then unplug it from the wall. The reason you do this is because you're letting Windows shut down properly.
This is an overview of the Orthoscan FD. If you need sales or service, please give us a call at 800-643-2998 or send us an email at info@minicarm.com. Thank you.
The Orthoscan FD is the flat-detector mini C-arm of choice for surgeons who need diagnostic-grade extremity imaging with sterile-field control in the OR. Common applications include:
The President of Minicarm.com is a co-founder of Orthoscan, the only independent service organization that specializes in the Orthoscan FD and maintains factory-level parts and refurbishment capability after Orthoscan’s end-of-life announcement. No other service organization has this depth of FD-specific parts, service history, and refurbishment authority. 85% of issues are resolved through 24/7 phone and video support. When on-site service is needed, certified Orthoscan-trained technicians respond within 24 to 48 hours in most U.S. metro areas.

The President of Minicarm.com is a co-founder of Orthoscan. We are the only independent source for factory-level Orthoscan FD parts, service, and refurbishment in the United States.
The Orthoscan FD is the original flat-detector mini C-arm with a 6x4-inch detector and 2k x 1.5k resolution. The Orthoscan FD OR adds OR-integrated workflow with the thinnest detector housing in the category. The Orthoscan FD Pulse adds pulsed fluoroscopy (30 to 80% dose reduction) and a larger 6x6-inch detector, making it the lowest-dose option in the FD family.
Orthoscan has ended manufacturer support for the FD along with the FD OR, Mobile DI, and FD Pulse. Minicarm.com, owned by an Orthoscan co-founder, continues to provide OEM parts, certified refurbishment, and nationwide on-site service for the Orthoscan FD. Service contracts up to 60 months are available.
Certified-refurbished Orthoscan FD pricing starts as low as $30,000 and typically runs up to $40,000 depending on year of manufacture, hours of use, included accessories, and warranty tier. Call (800) 643-2998 for an exact quote.
Yes. The Orthoscan FD has sterile-field controls mounted on the front of the C-arm. Scrubbed surgeons can initiate imaging, save images, print, and review directly from the sterile field without depending on a circulator or breaking sterile technique. This is one of the FD's defining OR workflow advantages over image-intensifier mini C-arms.
Yes. The Orthoscan FD exports directly to PACS via DICOM 3.0, plus USB and printer targets. Imaging and documentation functions are accessible through sterile-field controls during surgical cases.
