The characters were wonderful including veterinarian Kate, Florida state trooper and former military Nick, Nick’s eight-year-old son Ben, Kate’s grandmother, and so many others. The romance between Nick and Kate was sweet. The story featured lots of dogs. There were many heartwarming moments, but also some heartbreaking ones as well that concerned a puppy mill and dog fighting ring. I truly loved the dogs Soldier and Goldie and the special bond they shared. A very entertaining read featuring characters to root for, an interesting storyline, and so many lovable dogs....more
