Today, I’m revisiting January 2016.

I published 33 times, and 8 of these posts were book reviews.
January 2016 is also the first time I joined The Classics Club, already 10 years, I can’t believe it!
Soon, I’ll be publishing my answers to the latest Classics Club questionnaire.

Today, I’m revisiting December 2015.

I published 35 times, and not one book review!!
A lot of posts were for reading challenges (I used to do tons!), for Bout of Books, that stopped in 2024, as well as a daily challenge, A Month of Faves – that no longer exists either, and two of the three hosts no longer blog.

But I like my current daily December challenge, hosted by Lynn –  check it here.

Today, I’m revisiting November 2015.

I published 14 times, and 6 of these posts were book reviews.

Of these, here are my two favorite books:

La septième fonction du langage The Lake House

1. MY VERDICT:
If you enjoy first rate literature, linguistics, and detective fiction, you’ll find the perfect combination here. A must-read for a subtle and hilarious look at the relationship between fiction and reality.
The book is available in English: The Seventh Function of Language

2. MY VERDICT:
The Lake House highlights Kate Morton’s usual style, at the intersection between historical fiction and mystery, in all its greatness. The words make you want to linger on each and the plot makes you turn the pages.

📚

And here is the book that got most views on my blog that month:

Lady Agnes Mystery 1

MY VERDICT:
Suspenseful saga set in France in the 14th century, at the time of the dreadful Inquisition
. Rich in historical details and ripe with secrets powerful enough to kill or to die for.
