A Special Prayer Request

Greetings, friends. Sadly, today I am asking for prayers for a friend and former school mate of whom I have known for many years, Tina Butkus-Grier. Tina is one of THE sweetest souls whom I have even known. She is currently fighting for her life at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. The following was posted by her sister, Holly on a site called, "Caring💛 Bridge". Please click on the images to read content ... Thank you!

What's new?

Welcome all! Here it is Monday already and the start of yet another week. I am asking for prayers and some reiki healing energy to be sent to my friend Renee Nichole's precious fur baby Moose. He had lost A LOT of weight very quickly and was taking in a lot of water so Renee immediately took him to her local Animal Hospital and they diagnosed him with thyroid problems and, of course, diabetes. He had been on insulin for three days when he began vomiting and heaving and screeching in pain. The vet told Renee that Moose was experiencing  diabetic ketoacidosis. He is currently still at the hospital and they told her they will be keeping him and monitoring him until probably Tuesday. 🙏🙏🙏

In other news, we are still trying to figure out what to do with the stray kitty we have been watching over and trying to take care of since the end of last year, Chester. He trusts my husband but still does not trust me - in fact, he swats at me all the time even though I  feed him twice a day - lol ...

The latest pic of Miss Ginger taken this past weekend. She is such a snuggle bug and cuddles on my lap every chance she gets ...

Have a blessed day everyone!

Our Imbolg celebration ~ 2021

Due to both of our conflicting schedules and the predicted impending bad weather for early next week, my sister Aurora Skye and I decided to hold our Imbolg celebration a few days early this year. So, today, we held our ritual in my living room instead of the altar room as usual because my husband was working downstairs. As I was setting up our altar, Miss Ginger  had decided to check things out for herself ...

In addition to our altar, we displayed our personal wedding photos - symbolic of the sabbat of Imbolg as we were honoring the Triple Goddess Brigid whose name gives way to the word "bride" ...

(L-R): My parents taken after their engagement, Aurora Skye and her husband, and a photo taken from my own wedding album of my legal handfasting as performed by High Priestess and my Reiki Master, Lady Sabrina Rhiannon.

Brigid's Bed.
Brigid's ritual candle.
Lighting our white ritual candles from Brigid's flame.

Our altar adorned with symbols of Imbolg, we humbly asked Brigid to bless us with her presence and urged Her to unite with her loving consort, the Young Lord of Light, once again to bring on the coming of Spring.

Imbolc Oil
1 part basil
1 part frankincense
1 part myrrh
2 parts rosemary
3 parts cinnamon
6 drops jasmine essential oil
5 drops sandalwood essential oil

AN IMBOLG CAROL

We dance the Ring of Imbolg,
We dance the round of Spring,
We dance this night to invoke,
The hope that it will bring.

Wishing everyone a very Blessed Imbolg!

Prayer and Healing Energy request ...

My dear friends, I am writing this post in hopes that you could please send some prayers and healing energy for my little boy Midnight. As you all may know if you have been following my blog, he has been through so much in his little life and now he is very sick.

For the past week, he has been losing a lot of weight even though he has tried to eat we could only get him to eat canned food or cat puree. This morning we took him to our vet and she said she is very worried about his kidneys. She drew some blood and they are now running some tests which we are supposed to hear the results about sometime tomorrow. The vet also said he was of course dehydrated and she gave him a shot for that. She also prescribed a couple of meds in the meantime ... one to help his appetite along and the other for his sick stomach.

 My heart is breaking and I am also worried sick about him. Any positive healing energy or prayers would so greatly be appreciated.

Sending healing prayers

Sometimes, I think that the world has simply gone mad and we who are actually sane are merely helpless bystanders who can do very little after the fact than to just cringe at the very thought of what is going on around us. Such is the feeling I get after hearing about today's Connecticut tragedy. And, earlier this week (on 12-12-12) it appears that there was a another true horror story about a Texas man who carved a pentagram on to his 6-year old sons' back (http://www.kxxv.com/story/20328423/texas-man-accused-of-carving-pentagram-into-son. His reason? "It was a holy day," he calmly explained to the 911 dispatcher. Mind you, this man's step-father reports that this very sick father is "deep into the Old Testament." So, needless to day, he was certainly NOT Pagan (although some very irresponsible and ignorant members of the press have already claimed this unthinkable act most likely either connected to Satanism or Paganism because of the pentagram symbol. *Sigh*)

I am lighting a candle and sending lots of healing prayers to all who have been affected by these terrible events and I truly wish all of these families the strength to see their way through it all with love and, hopefully, time.

The Passion of the Earth

Infinite Spirit, when I pray each day
for shelter for the homeless,
let me not ingore the pet without a home;

As I ask protection for those in areas
of turmoil and unrest,
let me not forget endangered species of life;

When I pray that the hungry be fed,
let me be mindful
that all God's creatures have need of sustenance;

As I ask Devine assistance for those afflicted
by fire, flood, earthquake, storm or drought,
let me remember that this includes every living thing;

In seeking miracle cures for human disease,
may I also speak for the well-being of the planet itself

Let the words of my mouth,
the meditation of my heart
and the actions of my life be as one,
that I may live each day in harmony
with Mother Earth

Gemstones and Jewelry

I come to you in gentle love,
Uniting Earth with Heaven above;
Be peaceful children and never afraid,
For in love and light we all were made -
Youngest species, human child;
Learn to be gentle, loving and mild,
I teach you ALL, birth, death and rebirth
Together we can create Heaven on Earth.
~ Amethyst Prayer

Even as a small child, gemstones and rocks of all kinds had always held a certain fascination for me. The shapes and colors are so beautiful, especially when worn as jewelry. When I began studying Wicca and all that it generally entails, I couldn't wait to learn about all the various gemstones with their properties and meanings.

Among my favorites, have always been my birthstone amethyst and amber (actually a resin, of course) which is also traditionally worn by Druid High Priests and Priestesses. Here are just a few more of the stones I love ...

Amethyst ~ used to increase psychic ability. It is also known as the "sobriety stone" and is good for protection.

Rose Quartz ~ known as the "love and friendship" stone and adds strength to relationships.

Snowflake Obsidian ~ You can use this stone by closing your eyes and picking one. The spots will depict the number of Guardian Angels guiding you on the course you have chosen.

Tree Agate ~ Worn to gain tolerance, patience and acceptance. Also enhances endurance.

Lapis Lazulli ~ Wonderful medication stone and helps bring clarity to any situation.

Rhodochrosite ~ known as the Inca Rose brings acceptance and forgiveness to all relationships. Bathe this stone in rosemary to aid with meditating about your relationships.

Moss Agate ~ Promotes simplicity, peace and happiness. Scatter several of these stones across your garden plants to bring about their abundance.

Pink Botswana ~ Helps to accept oneself as one actually is. Gives gratitude and security. Eliminates animosity and brings people with shared beliefs into your life if you focus on unity.

Some of my own favorite pieces of handcrafted gemstone jewelry set in sterling silver ...

Amber pendant and bracelet

Tiger's Eye & Carnelian necklace and bracelet with Yellow Jasper
Crystal Quartz Pendant
Mermaid necklace made with mixed Agate

Gorgeous Amethyst necklace (gift from hubby)

It is so truly amazing to me how many beautiful gemstones there are and how absolutely exqisite they look when worn! They are wonderful reminders of how breath-taking our Mother Earth truly is.

Those who befriend me know and see,
The Earth in Her eternity
Healing and wise, protective and strong,
I sing to you a loving song;
A tiny Earth Mother in your hand,
Expression of Air, Fire, Water and Land,
My charge always has been and always will be,
Heal the Earth as I heal thee!

THANKSGIVING WISHES & a Prayer

Harvest your wishes, harvest your dreams
Gather in stardust, reap the Moon's beams;
All things are possible ~ but love the Earth first,
She feeds your hunger and quenches your thirst;
Life never ending of Autumn I sing,
Yes, winter cometh, but comes then the Spring
I sing of the season's, Earth Mother's great wheel,
Attune to the rhythm to harvest and heal.

An Earth Prayer

My brother the star,
My Mother the Earth,
My sister the Moon -
To my life give beauty,
To my body give strength,
To my work give goodness,
To my house give peace
To my spirit give truth
To my elders give wisdom –
We must pray for strength
We must pray to come together,
Pray to the weeping Earth,
Pray to the trembling waters
and to the wandering rain
We must pray to the whispering Moon,
Pray to the tip-toeing stars
and to the hollering Sun

Prayer for Peace

"O Gracious Mother and Merciful Father,
We pray that you help the leaders of this world to have compassion in their hearts,
That you give them the wisdom to end the suffering caused by wars,
And the understanding that only through peace will we truly be happy;
We humbly ask you to guard and protect all of our brothers and sisters in the military,
And give comfort to their loved ones,
May you lead us from death to life,
From falsehood to truth,
Lead us from despair to hope,
From fear to trust,
Lead us from hate to love,
From war to peace,
Let peace fill our hearts, our world, our Universe;
Let our words be spoken in truth,
And our hearts show only love."

Earth Prayer

O Great Spirit of the South,
Radiance of the rising Sun,
Spirit of new beginnings,
O Grandfather Fire,
Great fire of the Sun
Power of life-energy, vital spark
Power to see far and to imagine with boldness
Power to purify our senses,
Our hearts and our minds
We pray for the good of this planet Earth
And all living beings on it

O Great Spirit of the West,
Spirit of the Great Waters,
Of rain, rivers, lakes and springs,
O Grandmother Ocean,
Deep matrix, womb of all life
Power to dissolve boundries,
To release holdings,
Power to taste and to feel,
To cleanse and to heal,
Great blissful waves of peace
We pray for the good of this planet Earth
And all living beings on it

O Great Spirit of the East,
Invisible Spirit of the Air,
And of the fresh, cool winds,
O vast and boundless Grandfather Sky,
Your living breath animates all life
Yours is the power of clarity and strength,
Power to hear the inner sounds,
To sweep out the old patterns,
And to bring change and challenge,
The ecstasy of movement and the dance
We pray for the good of this planet Earth
And all living beings on it

O Great Spirit of the North,
Protector of the fruitful land,
And of all green and growing things,
The noble trees and grasses,
Grandmother Earth, Soul of Nature,
Great power of the receptive,
Of nurturance and endurance,
Power to grow and bring forth
Flowers of the field, fruits of the garden
We pray for the good of this planet Earth
And all living beings on it
