Holiday Spirit?

A few years ago during one of our Yule Celebrations, two of my friends witnessed two distinctive figures standing in our hallway. They described them as a man and a woman whom we could only guess were my husband's uncle and his only daughter both whom passed away from cancer - one from lung and one from pancreatic. I was performing the Yule ritual and so I was not paying attention to the hallway but rather sitting with my back to it and at the altar at the time.

For the last couple of weeks or so, our cat Teddy has been driving me crazy sitting at the doorway between our living room and the small hallway. He just sits there staring up at the ceiling crying loudly as if he sees something I don't. What could he be crying at the ceiling for? A cobb web, a small bug crawling up it? Nope. So, usually don't do this, but I grabbed my digital camera and took a picture of the entranceway into the hallway and THIS is what the camera picked up ...

Okay, so I took another picture at the same time while standing in the very same spot in the living room that I took the first one, but no orb this time ...

Another look after I cropped the first one ...

Perhaps it was something on the camera lens - a small particle maybe or even some kind of a reflection? But if so, then why did it disappear and not show up on the second pic that I took? Keeping in mind that we have had some paranormal activity in our house in the past (so much so that I had to perform a house cleansing in each and every corner of each an every room after which it all seemed to stop completely) I can not help but to think that either this spirit is back again, OR perhaps it could even be my mother stopping by as this pic was taken on Christmas Eve. If so, she could have been here all along, but I just never paid much attention. Her urn is still sitting on spare bedroom dresser facing a door to the hallway and mirror.

As I walked out on Yuletide,
The winter winds blew cold
I saw the Winter King a-standing,
Grey and grim and old
His cloak was pulled around Him,
A child was in His hand
And He sang, “Blessed Be and Blessed Be

And Blessed Be again!”

Another Christmas season come and gone

Greetings, all! I hope you had a very blessed day! With my side of the family no longer with us, my hubby and I spent the day with my MIL and had a holiday dinner as per usual. We cooked a ham, seasoned potatoes, and had corn as a side dish. I think about my parents every single day of my life, so today I decided the only way I could honor them was to wear a cameo pendant locket with their pictures inside, keeping them close to my heart ...

Some pics from my MIL's house ...
My hubby surprised me with these special gifts ...
A mermaid shower mat to go with our nautical themed bathroom and a pretty pair of mermaid earrings ...
And, the kitties got a little treat "Thanks!" to my hubby's cousin and her family ... 💓

A couple of pics of our fur babies before we left for the day ...

This 'n' That

Greetings, friends. It has been a little while since I have posted, but in my defense, I am dealing with a lot of stressful issues lately which go far beyond the normal holiday crap and I will not bore you with them. Instead, I will make an attempt to focus on the positive if you will indulge me.

I haven't had much time nor the room as of yet to actually put up my usual holiday decorations and so I did the best that I could ...

The sconce on the left is Green Man (Autumn) and the one on the right is Green Man (Winter).

My husband and I stopped by the Fairgrounds Square Farmer's Market two weeks ago and I picked up these delicious treats!

Hand baked fresh Chocolate brownies with mint icing and chocolate chips.
                                 Pumpkin spice cake.

And, my hubby brought home these maple snickerdoodle cookies ...
This past Friday, I was surprised by these gifts from two of my very thoughtful co-workers ...
My personal trainer (and friend), and fellow Eeyore enthusiast, Deb, gifted me with this awesome Eeyore tooth fairy and small Pooh picture frame.

And, another co-worker whose mother is currently fighting stage 2 breast cancer, surprised me with this sweet (and perfect!) gift bag ...
Complete with Grinch Christmas card, two talking pens (pens with sayings on them), a thank you owl, and Grinch Hershey Kisses ... HUGE HUGS!!

This particular pen is spot on because I am ALWAYS saying (both at home and at work) "Whose STUPID idea was THAT?" lol

Until next time, have a great rest of the weekend all!

Weekend Happenings

Blessed Sunday all! It has been yet another BUSY weekend here! Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with my sister, Aurora Skye doing a bit of long overdue shopping for Small Business Saturday ...

Among our favorite places which we frequent was "Celtic Myth & Moonlight" ...

Greenman sconces on sale of Winter Solstice, Summer Solstice, and Autumn Equinox ...

At "The Mint Leaf", I found these cool pieces of jewelry ...

And, at TJ  Maxx, I found these items ...

Also this Saturday, we had some much needed work done at our home. A very excellent and reasonable certified arborist trimmed two of our trees VERY close to our house, and the road, as well as a dead maple tree in the back of our house ...

That same day, we also had to have an electrician come out to fix and replace both our switch and box in our garage.

Have a good week everyone!

Thanksgiving Day (Part 2)

Greetings, friends! I hope that everyone had a nice holiday. As per every year my hubby, my MIL, and I had a delicious and lovely Thanksgiving dinner at his cousin's home. I brought along a little something for dessert - homemade Pumpkin Snickerdoodles baked by none other than my friend and co-worker, Chef Jesenia ...

This year, the family also decided to do something a bit different - we enjoyed an ice cream cake to celebrate both my husband's birthday and his cousin's son-in-laws' birthday. The "85" on the cake was a reversed "58" as a joke on my hubby (which oddly enough was also the year he graduated from High School) - LOL! ...

(My hubby on right)

This is a pic taken earlier before we left today of Benny and Kitt staying safe and semi-warm in our garage - complete with food, water, litter box, and bed! ...
