Abstract
Description
本願は、2013年6月6日に、日本に出願された特願2013-120261号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
また、ウェットタイプのペットフードうち、スープ部分をゼリー状とすることで、幼年、老齢、病気等の理由で歯が無い又は歯が弱いペットであっても、噛まないで食することのできるペットフードが開示されている(特許文献1)。
また、ゼリー状のペットフードをドライタイプのペットフードと混ぜてペットに与えようとすると、ゼリー状のペットフードではゼリーがほぐれ難く、混ぜづらい場合がある。
混ぜやすくするためにはゼリー部分が液体状であってもよいのだが、液体状である場合、ドライタイプのペットフードと絡み、混ざりやすくするために、液体に流動性をもたせることが好ましい。しかし、流動性の高い液体部分がペットフードを入れる容器に付着しやすく、容器が汚れやすいという問題がある。
本発明の犬用ペットフードは、ジュレタイプのペットフードであって、水分含有率が50重量%以上であり、回転式粘度計により測定された粘度が30~70dPa・sであり、Bostwick粘度測定器により測定された粘度が0.1~5.0cm/分であり、1種類以上のゲル化剤及び1種類以上の増粘剤を含むことを特徴とする。
ペットフードの水分含有率(重量%)は常圧加熱乾燥法で求められる。この方法で求められる水分含有率には具材中の水分も含まれる。
(常圧加熱乾燥法)
アルミ秤量缶の重量(W1グラム)を恒量値として予め測定する。このアルミ秤量缶に試料を入れて重量(W2グラム)を秤量する。つぎに強制循環式の温風乾燥器を使用して、135℃、2時間の条件で試料を乾燥させる。乾燥雰囲気中(シリカゲルデシケーター中)で放冷した後、重量(W3グラム)を秤量する。得られた各重量から下記式を用いて水分含有率を求める。
水分含有率(単位:重量%)=(W2-W3)÷(W2-W1)×100
(回転式粘度計)
粘度の測定は、回転式粘度計を用いて回転ローターにはたらく粘性抵抗の数値として求めることができる。例えば、VISCOTESTERを用い、ペットフードの粘度を測定することができる。該粘度の測定温度は25℃とする。
本発明の犬用ペットフードは、Bostwick粘度測定器により測定された粘度が0.1~5.0cm/分である。
前記測定器を水平な台の上に設置し、高さ調節ネジ5を調整することにより、滑り台である下流部4を水平に対して1度傾いた状態に設定した。下流部4及び上流部2の幅は5cmである。測定は、試料温度25℃、室温25℃の条件で行った。試料92.5mlを上流部2に注ぎ、ゲート1の開門後、1分経過時の試料の先端部が到達した距離を測定した。ゲート1の位置が基準(0.0cm)であり、0.5cm刻みで測定した。
本発明の犬用ペットフードは、ペットフード全体において、目開き10mmの篩、すなわち一辺が10mmの開口を有するメッシュ状のフィルター(以下、10mmメッシュの篩ともいう。)を通過しない画分の割合が70~95重量%であることが好ましい。
本明細書における、所定の目開きの篩を通過した画分の量、又篩上に残った量は、ペットフード全体を当該篩に載せる方法で測定した値である。
スープ部分と具材との複合体、又は10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない大きさの具材は10mmメッシュの篩を通過しにくい。具材から分離されたスープ部分は、比較的流動性が低いゼリー状であると10mmメッシュの篩を通過しにくく、比較的流動性が高いジュレ状であると10mmメッシュの篩を通過しやすい。
このように、10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分は、具材を多く含む。10mmメッシュの篩を通過する画分は、比較的流動性が高いジュレ状のスープ部を多く含む。これらの画分が適度なバランスで含まれると、ドライタイプのペットフードと混ぜやすく、またペットフードの容器への付着量が少なくなりやすい。
すなわち、4mmメッシュの篩を通過する画分の割合が1~25重量%であることが好ましく、1~10重量%がより好ましく、1~7重量%がさらに好ましく、1~2.5重量%が特に好ましい。
このような4mmメッシュの篩を通過する画分の割合が少ないほど、ペットフードの容器への付着(皿の汚れ)が少なくなりやすい。
なお、4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合は、前記10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合以上である。
なお、10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合と、10mmメッシュの篩を通過し、かつ4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合の合計は、4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合に等しい。
より好ましくは、4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合が90~99重量%の範囲であり、10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分が84~96重量%である。このとき、10mmメッシュの篩を通過し、かつ4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分は3~15重量%であり、5~10重量%が好ましい。
さらに好ましくは、4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合が93~99重量%の範囲であり、10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分が86~95重量%である。このとき、10mmメッシュの篩を通過し、かつ4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分は2~13重量%であり、5~8重量%が好ましい。
特に好ましくは、4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合が97.5~99重量%の範囲であり、10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分が88~94重量%である。このとき、10mmメッシュの篩を通過し、かつ4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分は3.5~11重量%であり、4.5~7重量%が好ましい。
前記ゲル化剤とは、水溶液に添加することで水溶液をゲル化させる物質であれば特に制限されず、例えば、ローカストビーンガム、カラギーナン、寒天、ジェランガム、ペクチン、ローメトキシルペクチン、コンニャクマンナン、アルギン酸、アルギン酸ナトリウム、ファーセルラン、ゼラチン等が挙げられる。本発明で用いるゲル化剤としては、ローカストビーンガム、カラギーナン、寒天、ジェランガム、ペクチン及びアルギン酸が好ましい。カラギーナンは、κ(カッパ)、ι(イオタ)及びλ(ラムダ)タイプがあり、本発明においては、いずれも使用可能であるが、特にκ(カッパ)カラギーナンが好ましい。
前記ゲル化剤の精製度は特に制限されず、また市販のものが利用可能である。
ゲル化剤と増粘剤の好ましい組合せを以下に挙げる。
ゲル化剤としてローカストビーンガムと、カラギーナンと、寒天と、ジェランガムとを用いるとともに、増粘剤としてキサンタンガムを用いる。
ゲル化剤としてローカストビーンガムと、カラギーナンと、寒天とを用いるとともに、増粘剤としてグァーガムと、デンプンとを用いる。
ゲル化剤としてローカストビーンガムと、カラギーナンを用いるとともに、増粘剤としてキサンタンガムを用いる。
本発明の犬用ペットフードは具材としてフレークを含んでもよい。ここでフレークとはペットフードの具材として主な重量割合を占める具材であって、該具材は肉類又は魚介類具材であることが好ましい。より具体的なフレーク原料として、牛、鶏、羊、豚、マグロ、カツオ、イワシ、カマス、タイ、ヒラメ、サバ及びアジからなる群より選択される少なくとも1つの原料が挙げられる。
前記ペットフードを構成する原材料は特に制限されず、従来のペットフードに使用されている原材料を適用することができる。例えば、牛、豚、鶏等の家畜および種々の魚等に由来する肉を使用することができる。これらのタンパク質を主成分とする原材料に加えて、ペットが通常必要とする炭水化物成分を多く含む穀類や、食物繊維を多く含む植物性の食材を使用してもよい。
前記肉類としては牛、鶏、羊、豚等が挙げられ、同様に、肉類加工品(成形肉、ソーセージ等)が挙げられる。
前記野菜類としてはキャベツ、ホウレンソウ、カボチャ、ピーマン、ニンジン、ゴボウ、ジャガイモ、アスパラガス、大豆、グリーンピース等が挙げられ、同様に、野菜類加工品(豆腐等)が挙げられる。
前記穀類としてはコムギ、トウモロコシ等が挙げられ、同様に穀類加工品(ビスケット、穀類含有模造肉等)が挙げられる。
前記きのこ類としてはシイタケ、マッシュルーム等が挙げられ、同様にきのこ類加工品が挙げられる。
前記卵類としては鶏卵、ウズラ卵等が挙げられ、同様に卵類加工品が挙げられる。
前記乳類としては牛乳、山羊乳等が挙げられ、同様に、乳類加工品(チーズ等)が挙げられる。
なお、魚介類、肉類、野菜類、穀類、きのこ類、卵類及び乳類を用いた加工品は、上記の類のうち複数の類を用いても構わない。
本発明の犬用ペットフードは、フレークを含む具材のサイズを調整する工程、サイズ調整された具材とスープ部分原材料とを混合して具材及びスープ部分原材料の混合物を得る工程、該具材及びスープ部分原材料の混合物をパウチ容器に充填する工程並びに該パウチ容器をレトルト殺菌する工程を含む方法で製造される。
サイズ調整の必要がある具材は、ペットが食するのに適したサイズに調整される。サイズ調整は公知の手法を用いて行うことができる。例えば、ミンチ状にミキシング加工する方法、フレーカーにより切削する方法等が好ましい。フレークのサイズはフレーカーの速度・時間・フレークを通す回数等を変更することで調整してもよい。
また、本発明の犬用ペットフードの製造工程には、一部又は全ての具材、水、ゲル化剤及び増粘剤を混合することにより、具材及びスープ部分原材料の混合物を得る工程が含まれる。混合の方法は特に制限されず、ミキサー又はミンサーを用いた公知の方法が適用可能であり、均一に混合できる方法を採用することが好ましい。具材、増粘剤及びゲル化剤の種類や性質によっては、混合されずに混合後に前記混合物へと添加されるものがあってもよい。具材はペットフード中に分散していてもよい。
実施例におけるペットフードの製造及び物性の測定は、特に指定温度のない場合は室温(20~25℃)において行った。
まず、表1に示す配合率で、ゲル化剤、増粘剤、その他原材料及び具材を調合し、5分間混合し、具材及びスープ部分原材料の混合物を得た。
具材として用いたフレークは、長径が15mm以下の大きさのものがフレーク全体量の100重量%であった。
市販されているウェットタイプのペットフードを入手し、比較例3~5のペットフードとした。以下、前記比較例1、比較例2及び実施例1のペットフードに加え、前記比較例3~5のペットフードに対しても測定及び評価を行った。
篩は、目開き4mmで線径1.3mmのもの、及び目開き10mmで線径1.5mmのものを使用した。篩の上にペットフードを載せ、10分間でのペットフードの篩の通過量を測定した。
ペットフードの水分含有率の結果を表1に併記し、ペットフードの物性の測定結果を表2に示す。
以下、ペットフードの混ぜやすさ及び容器への付着具合の評価を行った。
[混ぜやすさの評価]
実施例1~2及び比較例1~5の各ペットフード(以下、試験ペットフードという)80gをドライタイプのペットフード50gと混ぜて使用した。
ドライタイプのペットフードとしては、最短径が2~20mm程度、最長径が5~30mm程度、形状が碁盤状、嵩密度が380~440g/L程度の粒体からなるペットフードを用いた。
まず、容器(市販のステンレス製犬用食器)にドライタイプのペットフード50gを入れ、そこに試験ペットフード80gを加えた。スプーンを用いて、試験ペットフードを解しながら、全体を1分間混合した。これらを混ぜる際にペットフードが解れやすいかどうか、またドライタイプのペットフードと試験ペットフードとを混ぜやすいかどうかを、下記の基準で評価した。
A:ペットフードを混ぜる際に、試験ペットフードは解れやすく、ドライタイプのペットフードとも混ぜやすい。
B:ペットフードを混ぜる際に、試験ペットフードはやや解れにくく、ドライタイプのペットフードやや混ぜにくい。
C:ペットフードを混ぜる際に、試験ペットフードは解れにくく、ドライタイプのペットフードとも混ぜにくい。
実施例1~2及び比較例1~5のペットフードの容器への付着(皿の汚れ)具合を、以下の評価基準で評価した。
A:ペットフードの容器への付着(皿の汚れ)はあまり目立たない。
B:ペットフードの容器への付着(皿の汚れ)がやや目立つ。
C:ペットフードの容器への付着(皿の汚れ)がとても目立つ。
これらの結果から、実施例1及び実施例2の犬用ペットフードのみがドライタイプのペットフードと混ぜやすく且つ容器を汚しづらいペットフードであることがわかる。
Claims (9)
- ジュレタイプのペットフードであって、水分含有率が50重量%以上であり、回転式粘度計により測定された粘度が30~70dPa・sであり、Bostwick粘度測定器により測定された粘度が0.1~5.0cm/分であり、1種類以上のゲル化剤及び1種類以上の増粘剤を含むことを特徴とする犬用ペットフード。
- 前記ゲル化剤が、ローカストビーンガム、カラギーナン、寒天、ジェランガム、ペクチン及びアルギン酸からなる群より選択される少なくとも1つであり、前記増粘剤が、キサンタンガム、グァーガム、デンプン、アラビアガム及びタラガムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1つである請求項1に記載の犬用ペットフード。
- 10mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合が70~95重量%である請求項1又は2に記載の犬用ペットフード。
- 4mmメッシュの篩を通過しない画分の割合が75~99重量%である請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の犬用ペットフード。
- 牛、鶏、羊、豚、マグロ、カツオ、イワシ、カマス、タイ、ヒラメ、サバ及びアジからなる群より選択される少なくとも1つの原料由来のフレークを含み、該フレークの長径が15mm以下である請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の犬用ペットフード。
- 魚介類、肉類、野菜類、穀類、きのこ類、卵類及び乳類からなる群から選択される少なくとも2種の具材を含む請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の犬用ペットフード。
- 具材の割合が60重量%以下である請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の犬用ペットフード。
- 請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載のペットフードを製造する方法であって、
フレークを含む具材のサイズを調整する工程、サイズ調整された具材とスープ部分原材料とを混合して具材及びスープ部分原材料の混合物を得る工程、該具材及びスープ部分原材料の混合物をパウチ容器に充填する工程並びに該パウチ容器をレトルト殺菌する工程を有する犬用ペットフードの製造方法。 - 請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の犬用ペットフードとドライタイプのペットフードとを混ぜて犬に与えることを特徴とする犬用ペットフードの給餌方法。
