Face a isto a possibilidade e qualidade de impressão foram, e são, até hoje conseguidas a partir da aplicação de uma laca, maioritariamente de base acrílica dispersa em meio aquoso ou de base solvente, que aumenta a energia de superfície e funciona como barreira â possível migração de plastificante e outros aditivos.
