Abstract

【課題】 高い靭性と耐熱衝撃性を有するサーメット焼結体からなる切削工具を提供する。 【解決手段】 Tiを主成分とする炭化物、窒化物および炭窒化物の1種以上からなる硬質相11と、CoおよびNiの少なくとも1種からなる結合相14とを含有するサーメット焼結体で構成され、すくい面2と逃げ面3との交差稜線部を切刃4とし、ノーズ5を形成した切削工具において、硬質相11は、第1硬質相12と第2硬質相13との2種類からなるとともに、すくい面2にて2D法で残留応力を測定した際、第1硬質相12のすくい面2に平行でかつすくい面2の中心から測定点に最も近いノーズに向かう方向(σ11方向)についての残留応力σ11〔1r〕が圧縮応力で50MPa以下(σ11〔1r〕=-50~0MPa)であり、第2硬質相13のσ11方向についての残留応力σ11〔2r〕が圧縮応力で150MPa以上(σ11〔2r〕≦-150MPa)であるチップ1である。
