Abstract

The invention relates to improvements to a device for gripping planar objects. The manipulation device for planar objects, such as discs arranged in stacks (1), of the type comprising a gripping mechanism for the discs using the central hole thereof mounted on a mobile arm (4) and at least two racks for receiving a stack of discs comprising a head (5) which can engage in the central hole of a disc (6, 9) and hold the same and arranged in a cylindrical recess (11) provided at the base (10) of each rack for entry and exit of discs. Said device comprises an electroluminescent emitter (12) and a receiver (14) fixed to the mobile arm (4) supporting the gripper head (5) and arranged beneath the plane of the disc held on the head (5).
