Abstract

本発明は、セルの周囲に外壁を有するハニカム焼成体が複数個結束されてなるセラミックブロックの外周面にシール材層が形成されてなるハニカム構造体であって、シール材層とセラミックブロックとの間の接着強度が高く、排ガス浄化用のフィルタとして繰り返し使用した場合であっても、シール材層がセラミックブロックから剥離することのないハニカム構造体を提供することを目的とし、本発明のハニカム構造体は、多数のセルがセル壁を隔てて長手方向に並設され、上記多数のセルの周囲に外壁を有する柱状のハニカム焼成体が接着剤層を介して複数個結束されたセラミックブロックの外周面に、シール材層が形成されてなるハニカム構造体であって、上記ハニカム焼成体の上記外壁のうち、上記セラミックブロックの上記外周面の一部を構成するものの表面には、上記外壁と同一の材料からなる突起部が設けられていることを特徴とする。
