L'invention concerne un élément de corde (2, 11) à structure torsadée ou tressée, comportant une âme (3) et une gaine (5) qui sont constituées de différentes matières synthétiques. Des multifilaments (8; 10) et/ou des fils de fibres discontinues (7; 9) sont présents dans la gaine (5). Des cordes torsadées, notamment des cordes à usage industriel, par exemple des cordes de guidage de papier, peuvent être formées à partir d'au moins un élément de corde (2, 11) selon l'invention.
