Abstract

The invention provides a totally free design for the back or the seat of a seating element according to the respective requirements thereof, while offering the possibility of a textile covering that is slip proof, fixed and safe. According to the invention, an element for the back and/or seat of a seating element comprises a frame (2) made of wood, light metal or synthetic material, forming an edge profile possessing a groove (3) which is inserted at least in various places into the narrow side edge thereof. Said element also consists of a pocket-shaped fabric covering (6) stretched over the frame. The fabric covering comprises a piping (5) arranged inside the pocket of the fabric corresponding to the groove (3) and engaging therein when in a position of use.
