Abstract

La présente invention concerne un tube métallique sans soudure comprenant, en tant que composant principal, au moins un type de métal choisi dans le groupe des métaux dont le point de fusion est supérieur ou égal à 1600 °C. Ce tube est caractérisé en ce qu'il présente une porosité (rapport de la zone de pores ouverts ne traversant pas une paroi de tube dans la direction d'épaisseur de la paroi sur la surface externe du tube, la surface externe totale du tube étant 100%) allant de 0,3 à 25 %. On peut réduire l'épaisseur de paroi et le diamètre intérieur de ce tube. Ce tube convient particulièrement en tant qu'élément d'étanchéité pour un tube à arc (par exemple un tube à arc en céramique) d'une lampe à décharge haute pression, telle qu'une lampe aux halogénures présentant une très bonne résistance mécanique et une très bonne étanchéité à l'air.
