- the present invention relates to a body for a refrigerator, in particular a built-in refrigerator.
- Such a body has a front side that is open to an interior, the front side being essentially constructed by vertical edge strips and horizontal end strips that surround the opening of the front side.
- the edge strips of such a body are generally formed in one piece with the side walls of the body by bending metal sheets. Due to fluctuating sheet hardness, it is difficult to maintain an angle of exactly 90 ° between the part forming the side wall and the part forming the edge strip when bending these sheets.
- the metal sheets, the side walls and edge strips of the body with a color coating only where they are actually visible to a user of the installed device.
- Those surface areas of the sheets that are actually visible on the installed device can be economically colored by coating them with a film.
- a film is more sensitive to pressure than a conventional lacquer layer.
- Hinges required for attaching a door to the body are conventionally screwed onto a front strip of the front and protrude laterally beyond the edge strip and the side wall. If the side wall and the edge strip do not meet exactly at a right angle, but at a slightly acute angle, this means that an area of the hinge protruding laterally beyond the front strip presses on the edge strip and leaves unsightly pressure marks in the glued-on color film. If it is necessary to change the door stop when installing the refrigerator, these pressure marks will be visible where the hinges have been removed. This can be perceived by a user as a lack of the refrigeration device.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a body for a refrigeration device in which the formation of pressure marks or other surface damage on a vertical edge strip is avoided in a simple and inexpensive manner by a hinge mounted on a front strip and projecting over the edge strip.
- the object is achieved according to the invention by a body with the features of claim 1.
- this body simply by joining the front strip and the edge strip, this is put under a tension, which causes a possibly acute angle between the edge strip and the side wall to widen in the relaxed state.
- the joining element of the body according to the invention preferably forms a clamp which clamps the end strip between two contact points which are located on a front side or a back side of the end strip and each have different distances from a side wall of the body. This arrangement of the contact points enables the torque to be exerted on the terminal to widen the angle.
- the clamp can be designed as a U-shaped profile, the distance between opposite legs of the U-shaped profile being greater than the thickness of the section of the end strip engaging in the clamp and the section extending obliquely between the two contact points through the groove of the U-shaped profile extends.
- the joining element is preferably connected in one piece to an edge of the edge strip facing away from the side wall. This allows the side wall, the edge strip and the joining element to be produced in one operation from a piece of sheet metal or other suitable flat material.
- the joining element is elastically connected to the edge strip.
- This elastic connection can be provided in particular at the free end of the edge strip facing the opening of the front side.
- This construction allows an elastic deformation when joining the front strip and edge strips, by means of which the joining element as a whole is elastically rotated against a rest position, which it assumes in a state not assembled with the front strip.

- the two clamps 14 each serve to clamp an edge section (not shown) of a deep-drawn part made of plastic, which in each case forms the inner walls of the refrigerator compartment or the freezer compartment of the refrigerator.
- the two end strips 8 of FIG. 1 each have a clip in the manner of clips 14 on one edge for the same purpose.
- a corresponding clamp 15 is also provided on the edge strips 6 of the side walls 7, as shown in the section in FIG. 5.

- the end section 16 comprises a step 19, a first contact point 20 set back by the depth of the step, a diagonal section 21 and a second contact point 22.
- the depth of the step 19 is dimensioned such that the edge strip 6 is flush with the center piece 12 of the front bar 9 connects when its bead 13 touches the first contact point 20.
- the diagonal section 21 extends diagonally through the interior of the clip 15, so that the second contact point 22 presses against a leg 25 of the clip 15 facing away from the edge strip 6 and thus holds the latter in a position rotated counterclockwise relative to its idle state shown in FIG.
- This rotation of the clamp 15 is transmitted to the edge strip 6 and, since the side wall 7 in turn cannot be rotated, leads to an expansion of the angle at which the side wall 7 and the edge strip 6 meet.
- This widening reduces a pressure which, if the angle were slightly less than 90 °, could otherwise occur between the region of the edge strip 6 near the side wall 7 and the hinge 5 and could lead to damage to the surface of the edge strip.
- Figure 6 shows a modified embodiment of the front region of the side wall 7 and the edge strip 6.
- Figure 6 shows the edge strip 6 once in a position I, which it assumes in a relaxed state and in which it meets the side wall 7 at an acute angle, and once in a position II, in which the angle between side wall 7 and edge strip 6 is exactly 90 °.
- the bracket 15 ' has the same shape as the bracket 15 in FIG. 5, but the former is firmly connected to the edge strip 6 or the side wall 7 at at least one point 23, for example by spot welding. A rotation of the bracket 15 'against the edge strip 6 is therefore not possible in this embodiment.
- FIG. 7 shows the front region of the side wall 7 shown in FIG.
- FIG. 8 shows a modified embodiment of the front strip 8 in engagement with a bracket 15 of a side part.
- the side part is identical to that shown in FIG. 4.
- the end section 16 of the end strip carries a buffer body 27 made of plastic, which forms the second contact point 22.
- the buffer body can be flexibly deformed to a small extent under the pressure acting on the second contact point 22 and thus facilitates the alignment of the edge strip 6 in a position orthogonal to the side wall 7 with increased tolerance of the dimensions of the end section 16 and the clamp 15 and the bending strength of the clamp 15.
- the use of buffer bodies of different thicknesses also enables convenient adaptation if batches of sheets with varying bending strength are used for the production of the side parts.
