- Some ventilation devices are also with additional electrical heating units, for example in the form of a PTC heating register.
- the solution according to the invention provides a vehicle ventilation device which can be used specifically, but not exclusively, for convertibles.
- the vehicle ventilation device according to the invention is intended for directing air to the head and neck area of at least one occupant, essentially in a direction corresponding to the direction of travel, and comprises an air supply device opening into the passenger compartment, an air deflection device and an air discharge device.
- the vehicle ventilation device according to the invention the mostly warm air present in the passenger compartment can be used to give the occupants a more comfortable driving experience by reducing the influence of the eddy formation caused by the windshield.
- the air supply device can advantageously be coupled to the vehicle ventilation system, the air supply device being designed accordingly for connection to the vehicle ventilation system.
- part of the passenger compartment, e.g. blown, heated air in the foot area to the head and neck area are redirected.
- an air outlet opening provided in the floor area of the vehicle could be coupled to the device according to the invention.
- the entire device and in particular the air supply device, preferably comprises a sieve or an air filter in order to avoid that dirt particles are directed onto the occupants when the air is directed, or to prevent the function of the blower or the heat exchanger (example: paper snippet) from being impaired.
- a sieve or an air filter in order to avoid that dirt particles are directed onto the occupants when the air is directed, or to prevent the function of the blower or the heat exchanger (example: paper snippet) from being impaired.
- the vehicle ventilation device can advantageously comprise an air acceleration device, in particular a blower.
- an air acceleration device in particular a blower.
- the air quantity and flow velocity of the air directed to the head and neck area can be varied and, if necessary, adapted.
- an appropriate actuating device should be provided, which can also be integrated in the dashboard, for example.
- the control priority was also given to the control of the overall ventilation system that was already integrated in the vehicle.
- the vehicle ventilation device comprises an air heating device which e.g. in the form of an electric heater or a so-called PTC heating register (positive temperature coefficient) is provided.
- an air heating device e.g. in the form of an electric heater or a so-called PTC heating register (positive temperature coefficient) is provided.
- the air heating device can comprise a heat exchanger that can be connected to the coolant circuit of the vehicle, so that waste heat from the engine can be used to heat the directed air.
- the heat exchanger should in particular preferably be arranged relatively low with respect to the entire vehicle cooling circuit, so that the same can be vented simply by venting the entire coolant circuit.
- the air deflection device preferably comprises an air distributor which divides the air in particular into two air flows for the driver and front passenger. With this configuration, a selective adjustment of the individual air streams is easily made possible. In this embodiment, alternative or optional air acceleration and air heating devices can also be provided, which in particular should then be adjustable separately.

- the vehicle ventilation device is provided for directing air to the head and neck area of at least one occupant, essentially in a direction corresponding to the direction of travel.
- the vehicle ventilation shown device comprises in the lower area an air supply device 2 which opens directly into a blower 4.
- the air supply device 2 can simply open into the passenger area, or can also be designed for coupling with the existing vehicle ventilation system.
- the fan 4 accelerates the air flow and can also serve as a suction means for sucking air from the passenger compartment.
- a grille and / or an air filter can advantageously be provided, which is not shown to simplify the illustration.
- a fan 6 is arranged upstream of the blower 4 and is coupled to the cooling circuit of the vehicle via a line 7.
- the air could also be heated via an electrical heating element, for example in the form of a PTC heating register or the like.
- An air deflection device 8 in the form of a distributor 9 is shown above the heat exchanger 6 in the embodiment shown. The deflection device 8 forms two air flows for a driver and a front passenger by means of the distributor 9 and deflects the air in the direction of the head and neck area.
- the air flows are then deflected in one direction, essentially a direction opposite to the vehicle direction, so that at least one occupant can act on the head and neck area.
- the air deflection device 8 ends in an air delivery device 10, which in the embodiment shown is provided in the form of nozzles 11, as are currently also used in the dashboard area of vehicles.
- FIG. 2 the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is shown schematically in a side view, corresponding components being provided with corresponding reference numerals. The following is a detailed description of the components are not repeated, rather the operation of the vehicle ventilation device is described with reference to FIG. 2.
- Air is supplied from the vehicle to the vehicle ventilation device via the air supply device 2.
- the air supply device 2 is advantageously arranged on a vehicle ventilation system outlet opening, so that preheated air already enters the vehicle ventilation device according to the illustrated embodiment. It should also be mentioned here that a direct coupling is also conceivable.
- the air that has entered from the vehicle then enters a blower 4, which in the embodiment shown is operated by an electric motor.
- the fan 4 can accelerate the air movement or can also be understood as a suction device that sucks the air out of the vehicle.
- the fan 4 conveys the air essentially vertically upwards and acts on the heat exchanger 6 arranged above it, which is coupled via lines 7 to the coolant circuit of the vehicle. After flowing through the heat exchanger 6, the air is deflected via the air deflecting device 8 in such a way that it can be discharged essentially in the opposite direction to the direction of travel via the air dispensing device 10.
- the air discharge device 10 is provided in the form of a nozzle, which enables the air to be adjusted and directed onto desired body parts in the head and neck area of the occupants.
- the fan and / or the heat exchanger can be controllable depending on the vehicle speed.
- the heat exchanger can of course also be understood as a cooling device of an air conditioning system, so that the air led to the head and neck area is not heated, but rather cooled.
- the order of the blower and heat exchanger shear can be changed, but care must be taken that the heating heat exchanger, when coupled to the coolant circuit of the vehicle, is to be provided at a relatively low height in order to enable easy ventilation and to make an additional expansion tank unnecessary.
- the vehicle ventilation device increases the driving comfort of occupants, in particular of convertibles, by directing air from behind to the head and neck area.
- the directed air can be set and regulated individually by the occupant and / or depending on the vehicle speed in terms of temperature and / or flow, so that users of convertibles with the solution according to the invention can also operate their convertible openly, even if the outside temperatures are very low, e.g. up to outside temperatures of zero degrees.
