- The disclosure and prior art relates to tag devices and more particularly pertains to a new tag device for displaying selected indicia on a golf tee.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a golf tee that may penetrate ground having the golf tee extending upwardly from the ground. The golf tee has a top end and a bottom end. A tag slidably receives the golf tee. Moreover, the tag is positioned between the top end and the ground when the bottom end of the golf tee penetrates the ground. Indicia are printed on the tag to enhance an ornamental appearance of the golf tee.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.
- There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a golf tag system according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view taken along line 3-3 ofFIG. 2 of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new tag device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , thegolf tag system 10 generally comprises agolf tee 12 that selectively penetratesground 14 has thegolf tee 12 extending upwardly from theground 14. Thegolf tee 12 has atop end 16 and abottom end 18 and thegolf tee 12 may be of any conventional size and design. Atag 20 is provided and thetag 20 slidably receives thegolf tee 12. Thus, thetag 20 is positioned between thetop end 16 and theground 14 when thebottom end 18 of thegolf tee 12 penetrates theground 14. Thetag 20 hasindicia 22 printed thereon to enhance an ornamental appearance of thegolf tee 12. - The
tag 20 has afirst surface 24, asecond surface 26 and aperipheral surface 28 extending therebetween. Theperipheral surface 28 has atop side 30 and abottom side 32 and each of the first 24 and second 26 surfaces has theindicia 22 thereon. Theindicia 22 may comprise initials, an image, a logo and any other selectedindicia 22. Additionally, theindicia 22 may be printed on thetag 20, carved into thetag 20 and presented on thetag 20 in any conventional means. Thetag 20 may be comprised of an impact resistant material such as plastic or the like to resist is deformed when thetag 20 is struck by a golf club. - The
peripheral surface 28 has anaperture 34 extending through thetop side 30 and thebottom side 32. Theaperture 34 insertably receives thebottom end 18 of thegolf tee 12 and theaperture 34 has a boundingsurface 36. Thetag 20 may have a length of approximately 9.0 mm, a height of approximately 3.0 mm and a width of approximately 2 mm. Anodule 38 extends outwardly from the boundingsurface 36. Thenodule 38 frictionally engages thegolf tee 12 when thegolf tee 12 is inserted into theaperture 34. In this way thenodule 38 facilitates thetag 20 to frictionally engage a variety of diameters of thegolf tees 12. - In use, the
golf tee 12 is extended through theaperture 34 in thetag 20 and thebottom end 18 of thegolf tee 12 is inserted into theground 14. Thus, thetag 20 is positioned between theground 14 and thetop end 16 of thegolf tee 12. The golf ball is positioned on thetop end 16 of the golf ball and the golf ball is driven from the tee. Moreover, thetag 20 be is positioned on anew golf tee 12 when thegolf tee 12 breaks during driving. In this way thetag 20 facilitates theindicia 22 on thetag 20 to be displayed ongolf tees 12 of a variety of sizes and lengths. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
