Description

March, 1, 1927. 1,619,156
A. PEARSQN ET Al.
MILK CARD Filed July 1:5, 1926 Patented Mar. 1, 1927.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MILK CARD.
Application led July 13,
This invention relates to milk cards, an object of the invention being to provide a milk card which can be placed in a window or at other convenient location to advise the milkman as to the desire of the customer both as to the quantity of the milk and cream to be left.
A further object is to provide a milk card having suitable information printed thereon together with an improved indicatorl movable on the card and adapted to register with the data on the card.
A further object is to provide a card of this character which, while it is especially adapted for use in connection with the delivery of milk, cream, eto.,may of course be adapted for other uses, and which is of extreme simplicity in construction and can be manufactured and sold at an extremely low price so that it may be distributed without cost to the customer and give real advertising value to the dealer and also result in great convenience to al1 parties.
lVith these and other objects in view, the
invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claim.
ln the accompanying drawings- Figure l is a plan view in elevation of our improved device;
Figure 2 is a view in transverse section on the line 2-2 of Figure l.
l represents a card, which may be of paper, metal, or any other material. On this card l we preferably illustrate the outline of a milk pail, as shown at 2, and form centrally of the card 1 alined slots 3, said slots, however, being spaced apart so as to prevent undue weakening of the card.
l/Ve of course do not limit ourselves to the particular printed matter on the card but for purposes of illustration we have shown the card as having numerals 4 on one side of each slot, with printed matter 5 to illustrate the quantity on the other `side l of each slot.
In connection with our improved card 1926. Serial N0. 122,218.
at right angles, lying against the face of' the card and forming clamps 8. In other words, this indicator has a crossbar 7 at the back of the card which has clamping members at both ends engaging the card at both sides of the slot, and these clamps, or rather the free ends of these clamps, constitute pointers and are adapted to register with the printed matter on the card to indicate the quantity of milk and cream or other goods desired. rlhese indicators can be moved longitudinally of the slots 3 to register' with the data thereon, and the milkman will know just what the customer desired to be left.
Various slight changes and alterations might be made in the general form of the parts described without departing from the invention, and hence we do not limit ourselves to the precise details set forth but consider ourselves at liberty to make suoli slight changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claim.
We claim:
A card of the character described having on its face the outline of a milk bott-le and having a slot located within the confines of the outline of the bottle and having printed matter within the confines of the bottle outline at opposite sides of the slot, and a double pointer movable in the slot and adapted to register with the said printed matter.
