Description

April 20 1926.
1,581,601 P. SPECK SANITARY CLDSET PAN Filed Feb. 12, 1925 I venror;
At-torne Patented Apr. 20, 1926.
UNITED STATES PAUL SPECK, OF KARLSRUI-IE, GERMANY.
SANITARY .oLosET PAN.
Application filed February 12, 1925. Serial No. 8,7195.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PAUL SPEOK, residing at Karlsruhe, Germany, a citizen of Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sanitary Closet Pans (for which I have filed an application for a patent in Germany July 13, 1923), of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to sanitary closet pans of the kind in which the pan rim is used as a seat. Pans of this kind have been constructed with an elevated portion at each side of the rim, so that a rest or seat for each buttock or thigh is provided.
According to my invention the seat is provided on one side only, preferably the left side, with an elevated portion which serves for only one buttock or thigh of the user. The seat may have an up-turned flange, or an upward curve, at its inner rim to afford additional support.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which shows an example in perspective.-
In the drawing a designates the body of the pan, 7) the elevated wall part, c the seat, (Z the flushing pipe and e the waste pipe.
As shown the rim of the pan curves upwards from the right hand side at the rear, round the back and then forwards on the left, the top surface on the left being enlarged by an inward extension or broadening to form the seating surface 0. Below the seat the wall of the pan forms a re-en- .tering angle so that the seat in part overhangs a substantially horizontal portion of the rim on the left hand side of the pan.
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is 1. A sanitary closet pan, comprising a bowl having one lateral Wall higher than the other, and a forwardly extending overhung seat portion on said higher wall.
2. A sanitary closet pan, comprising a bowl having one lateral wall higher than the other with a reentrant angular space between said higher wall portion and the horizontal normal plane of the bowl, and a forwardly extending overhung seat portion on said higher wall.
In witness whereof I have signed this specification.
PAUL SPEOK.
