The apron 6 is preferably provided with a tape 10 transversely secured across itsupper edge, said tape 10 having the mating, detachable, securing means 9 permanently secured thereto.- V
The apron 6 is adapted to be worn between the undergarment l and the outer clothing. So far as I am aware, I am the first to provide a union undergarment with an article of this character.
The insert 3 enables the wearer to have a semi-fitted garment with buttons, which will pullover'the hips and bust easily.
Having thus described one illustrative embodiment or my invention, I desire it to be understood that although specific terms are employed, they are used in a: generic and descriptive sense and not for purposes of limitation, the scope of the invention being Claims.
1. A union undergarment-having therein a transversely extending, knitted insert at the back at substantially the waist line, the wales of said insert extending trai'isversely, and a sanitary apron'detachably secured to the exterior of said union undergarment just below said knitted insert, said apron being held'in' place by the self-positioning of the union undergarment.
2. A, union undergarment having therein place by the self-positioning of the union undergarment.
3. A union under arment havin extend z: z: ing transversely across the back at about the waist line above the rear opening therein, means for detachably securing to such undergarment a sanitary apron, said-means being sufficiently low at the Waist line soflthat said apron will notbe displaced upwardly in bending the body 'while permitting stretching or yielding of the upper, backpart of said vundergarinent, in combination with said apron, the latter havingalon'g its upperedge complementary securing means and being composed of waterproof'material, whereby the inner waterproof 'face contacts directly with the nether portion of the union undergarment to which it is attached and the outer waterproof face cont-acts directly with an outer garment, said apron extending to the knees and having a free lower edge and free lateral edges permitting it to conform without pull to the body in sitting, said apron being full at the lower'end so as to cover the space between the legs of the undergarment at the knees and to overlie the major portion of the'legs of the undergarment from the waist to the knees and fully covering and protecting the rear'ope'ning-oi the undergarment. In'testimony whereof, I' have signed my name to this'specification.
