GAME APPARATUS.

GAME APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dieto 8, 1l 9 1l Application filed January 30, 1918. Serial No. 214,490.
T all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Auens'r E. STRADE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of lVest New Brighton, Staten Island, New
York city, borough of Richmond, in the county of Richmond and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Game Apparatus, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention has for its object to provide a game apparatus having a box divided by partitions into a plurality of compartments, in each of which there are a plurality of reccsses; there being a path at the side of the box which terminates in curved member, so that a ball propelled along the path will be directed by the curved member upwardly and rearv-rardlv and will fall in one of the compartments in which it may roll to one of the recesses.
Additional objects of the invention will appear in the following specification in which the preferred form of my invention is described.
In the drawings similar reference characters refer to similar parts in all the views, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating my invention,
Fig. 2 a sectional view on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1. and
Fig, 3 is sectional view on the line 33 r 7?? 1 0L 1 1;. 1..
referring to the drawings, it will be seen that a box 5 is provided having end walis (3 and 7. side walls 8 and 9 and a bottom 10. l paccd from the side wall 9, there is a partition 11 which forms with the side wall 9 a chute 12. Transverse partitions 13 divide the box 5 between the partition 11 and the s Jail 8 into a plurality of compartn' ent In each of the compartn'ients three recesses 15, there being mtcd over each of the said reend 7 of the box 5, there is a tuber 17 which extends to the side so that a ball or marble 18 ed along the chute 12 d upv "lly and rearwardly by flved ember 17, there being a guide 19 on the curved member 17 so that the ball or marble will be moved in the general direction of the side 8 of the box as it travels upwardly and rearw ardly from the curved member.
The top of the chute 12 is covered by a member 20 in which there is an opening 21 to permit of the introduction of the ball or marble 18 into the chute, the ball or marble 18 being propelled by a plunger 22 mounted on a stud 23 which passes through an opening 24 in the end 6 of the box. A spring 25 is coiled around the stud 23 between the said end 6 of the box and the plunger 22.
Beyond the end 6 of the box, the stud 23 terminates in a knob 26 and it will be understood that when the knob 26 is drawn away from the end (3 of the box, it will move the plunger 22 in the direction of the box end 6 and against the tension of the spring 25. hen the knob 26 is freed, the plunger 22 will drive the ball or marble along the chute 19, the ball or marble being directed over the compartments 14 by the curved member 17 and-the guide 19. The sides 8 and 9 of the box are preferably continued at the box end 7 to the edges of the curved member 17 to which they are secured.
Havingthus described my invention, T claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. In a game apparatus, a box having a plurality of transverse partitions dividing it into a plurality of compartments, a chute at the. side of the box, there being a plurality of openings through the bottom of each compartment, the end of the box and the chute being curved upwardly and rearwardly, for the purpose specified.
2. In a game apparatus, a box having a plurality of transverse partitions dividing it into a plurality of compartments, a chute at the side of the box, the end of the box and the chute being curved upwardly and rearwardly, and a guide on the said curved end of the box for directing a ball from the chute toward the other side of the box.
8. in a game apparatus, a box having a plurality of recesses, a chute at a side of the box, the end of the box and the chute being curved upwardly and rearwardly, and a guide on the said curved end of the box for directing a ball from the chute toward the other. side of the box.
4. In a vgame apparatus, a box having a 5 plurality of partitions dividing the box into a plurality of compartments, there being openings in the compartments which extend through the bottom of the box, a chute at a side of the box, the curved end of the box and the chute being curved upwardly and 10 rearwardly, and a guide on the said end of the box for directing a ball from the chute toward the other side of the box.
