Abstract
A method for predicting fracture healing comprises clinical examination, radiography. The method further provides for detection of genetic polymorphism of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR C677T), nitric oxide synthase (eNOS T 786), and measurement of interleukine-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), oxyproline concentration; the fracture healing may be predicted if heterozygous carrier status of 677-CT, 786-TC is revealed and the level of IL-6 is 3.3-8.8 ng/l, CRP is 1.7-5.2 mg/l and that of oxyproline is 12-16 mcmol/l.
