層壓黏著劑廣泛用於可撓性包裝應用中,諸如用於食品、醫藥及耐用消費品行業。無溶劑聚胺基甲酸酯層壓黏著劑因為所述技術達成較低能量足跡及較高轉化效率的能力而在市場中愈來愈重要。目前先進之層壓機需要具有長適用期之聚胺基甲酸酯黏著劑,在加工溫度下超過30分鐘。需要長適用期來以所要線速度達成黏著劑之一致塗佈且避免任何缺陷及外觀問題。然而,長適用期減緩固化、黏合強度建立、NCO衰減及一級芳族胺衰減(PAA),因此延遲製品之運送。
聚胺基甲酸酯黏著劑之反應性可藉由多種不同方式定製,諸如改變官能基、異氰酸酯(芳族或脂族)之類型、異氰酸酯及異氰酸酯反應性化合物之分子量及分子結構。亦可如多種先前技術中所述使用催化劑定製反應性。設計適用期在數分鐘至長達數小時之範圍內的聚胺基甲酸酯黏
著劑為切實可行的。適用期愈短,使得固化愈快,黏合產生愈快,NCO衰減愈快,PAA衰減愈快,塗層重量愈高且加工製品之運送愈快,因此,轉化效率得到改良。然而,由於現有市售層壓機之侷限性,具有短適用期(諸如短於30分鐘)之聚胺基甲酸酯黏著劑通常由於快速增加之黏度而經歷製造一致高品質層壓物的困難。此可歸因於由於過量黏著劑塗覆於如圖1中所示之市售層壓機之1號輥與2號輥之間而致的黏著劑在兩個輥之間的滯留時間延長。若可使兩個輥之間的黏著劑之量達最小而縮短黏著劑之滯留時間,則具有較短適用期之聚胺基甲酸酯黏著劑可能亦適用於層壓應用。當前物質傳遞裝備不允許有效混合具有顯著黏度差異、極端混合比之組分及在寬流速內進行精確流動控制。此等侷限性阻止混合機器與層壓機之同步且使其難以調節混合單元之流速以匹配兩個輥之間的黏著劑的消除速率。此外,短適用期具有隨時間物質積聚之風險,其可能需要頻繁清潔輥,從而導致生產力損失。
因此,需要一種物質傳遞系統,其允許在各種低速率內進行精確控制,有效混合具有極端比率及顯著黏度差異的組分,使黏著劑之滯留時間達最小且經由多個自動清潔系統有效清潔輥。
在本發明之一個實施例中,揭示一種用於在層壓機之兩個輥之間分配物質的裝置,其包括:a)至少兩個反應物儲槽,各反應物儲槽具有齒輪泵;b)連接於齒輪泵之混合器;c)連接於混合器之分配噴嘴;d)安裝於兩個輥之間的
軌道上的位準偵測器;及e)至少一個連接於混合器之溶劑儲存容器。
在本發明之另一實施例中,揭示一種在層壓機之兩個輥之間分配物質的方法,其包括:a)釋放來自各別反應物儲槽之至少兩種反應物;b)使反應物與混合速度在1000rpm至8000rpm範圍內之混合器接觸;及c)在混合器中混合反應物少於60秒,形成混合產物;d)將混合產物置於分配噴嘴中;e)將來自分配噴嘴之混合產物分配於兩個輥之間;f)中斷反應物之釋放;g)自第一溶劑儲存容器釋放第一溶劑;h)使第一溶劑與混合器接觸;i)將第一溶劑置於分配噴嘴中;j)將來自分配噴嘴之第一溶劑分配在兩個輥之間;k)中斷第一溶劑之釋放;及l)重複步驟a)至e)。

裝置通常可與適用於層壓黏著劑之層壓機器件一起使用。在一實施例中,裝置與包括五個輥之層壓機一起使用,如圖1中所示。輥1稱為計量輥且為固定的。輥2稱為轉移輥,與輥1相鄰且旋轉。輥3稱為差速輥,與輥2相鄰且沿輥2之相反方向旋轉。塗覆於層壓物之黏著劑量由輥3決定。輥4稱為塗覆輥,與輥3相鄰且沿輥3之相反方向旋轉。輥5稱為計量輥,與輥4相鄰且沿輥4之相反方向旋轉。所述輥可由橡膠或鋼製成。在一實施例中,輥3及5由橡膠
製成,且輥1、2及4由鋼製成。通常將黏著劑傳遞至輥1與2之間的間隙,其可視需要調節。將黏著劑塗覆於輥4與5之間的一或多個基板。在各種實施例中,一或多個基板可為聚合物膜、金屬化聚合物膜或箔。更佳為如下實施例,其中使用可固化黏著劑組合物將兩個聚合物膜、聚合物膜與金屬化聚合物膜或聚合物膜與箔黏合在一起。較佳聚合物膜含有有機聚合物。膜中所用之有機聚合物之實例包含(但不限於)聚酯、聚烯烴(包含烯烴與其他單體之共聚物)、聚醯胺及其摻合物。更佳有機聚合物為聚對苯二甲酸伸乙酯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯及耐綸。
本發明之裝置10的最簡單形式包括反應物儲槽12及14;能夠分別控制反應物儲槽12及14中之流速的齒輪泵16及18;混合器24;溶劑儲存容器28及30;在層壓機之輥1與2之間分配物質的分配噴嘴36(圖2中未示輥3、4及5);及位準偵測器38。管道20、22、26、32及34為可由鋼製成之管且可視情況為可撓性的。管亦可在不同部件中視需要為剛性及可撓性的。在一實施例中,所分配物質為黏著劑。
裝置包括複數個反應物儲槽。一般而言,反應物儲槽可具有適用於工業應用之任何尺寸。所述槽可為可經受住至少1atm壓力之物質。實例包含(但不限於)不鏽鋼及碳鋼。在各種實施例中,反應物儲槽可具有攪拌、氮氣填充加熱及脫氣能力。
各反應物儲槽配備有齒輪泵。齒輪泵可為允許精確控制流速之任何器件。在各種實施例中,齒輪泵為在1 lb/min至30 lbs/min範圍內之流速下允許精確控制流速的器
件。將齒輪泵及其所連接之管適當進行尺寸設定以達成流速之精確控制。在各種實施例中,流速為0.5 lbs/min至50 lbs/min,在各種其他實施例中,為2 lbs/min至35 lbs/min,且在各種其他實施例中,為2.5 lbs/min至25 lbs/min。
在各種實施例中,混合器為如下動態混合器,其允許以極端混合比率高速混合具有顯著黏度差異之組分,諸如5:95反應物1:反應物2至95:5反應物1:反應物2。混合器通常能夠在100rpm至10,000rpm之間,在各種其他實施例中在1000rpm至8000rpm之間,且在各種其他實施例中最佳在4000rpm至6000rpm之間操作。另外,反應物在混合腔室中之滯留時間通常少於60秒,在各種實施例中少於30秒,且在各種其他實施例中少於10秒。此外,混合單元經設計而以極端混合比率混合具有顯著黏度差異之組分,其中反應物1與反應物2之黏度比率在1:1至1:100範圍內,且兩種組分之間的混合比率為5:100至100:5。
在各種其他實施例中,混合器為靜態混合器,其可在反應物1與2具有類似黏度且混合比率為約1:1時使用。
將混合產物置於分配噴嘴中。噴嘴之構型可為標準或專用構型,其旨在達成輥1與2之間的黏著劑的調平。為促進黏著劑調平,可將噴嘴安裝於使其每分鐘可沿輥之軸線的方向來回移動至少4次,在各種實施例中每分鐘8次且在各種其他實施例中每分鐘10至15次的臂上。
將偵測輥1與2之間的混合產物的高位準及低位準的位準偵測器以電子學方式連接於反應物儲槽之齒輪泵,從而使得在低位準下提高流速且在高位準下降低流速。
自動清潔系統包括至少一個經由管道(諸如管)連接於混合器之溶劑儲存容器。各溶劑儲存容器由能夠承受至少50psi、較佳70至100psi之壓力的不鏽鋼或碳鋼製成。清潔系統用於在轉換期間及/或在輥上可見積聚時清潔混合器及輥。常見清潔溶劑為適合的,諸如二元酯、Benzoflex、TXIB、聚醚多元醇或低分子醇。為避免此等溶劑污染層壓物,需要在使用諸如MEK或乙酸乙酯之溶劑的第二溶劑儲存容器中具有第二溶劑。第二溶劑儲存容器亦經由管連接於混合器。
裝置可配備有多種線、電腦及其他器件而以電子學方式操作裝置。
本發明方法之一實施例使用上述裝置10說明。反應物儲槽12及14分別含有反應物1及2。齒輪泵16及18控制反應物之釋放。在釋放反應物1及2時,其分別經由管道20及22移動至混合器24。隨後將其混合,接著將混合產物經由管道26遞送至噴嘴36,在此處其在輥1與2之間分配。位準偵測器38將反饋遞送至各齒輪泵。
在程序停止且層壓機關閉時,則進行清潔過程。關閉齒輪泵以阻斷反應物之流動且層壓機之輥停止。隨後輥1與2脫嚙且過量混合產物排入捕獲盤中或手動取出。隨後輥1與2再嚙合且輥4與5脫嚙。第一清潔溶劑自溶劑儲存容器28釋放且層壓機之輥1及2恢復啟動。第一清潔溶劑經由管道32流至混合器24且經由管道26流至輥1及2。第一清潔溶劑使用所要時間量後,停止第一清潔溶劑之流動且自溶劑儲存容器30釋放第二清潔溶劑。第二清潔溶劑經由管道34流至混合器24且經由管道26流至輥1及2。一段時間後,溶
劑停止自溶劑儲存容器30流出。在另一實施例中,可在輥4上方使用清潔器件以清潔輥4。第二清潔溶劑停止流動後,輥1及2停止且輥4與5再嚙合。整個過程可隨後再次開始。
以上所有步驟可以電子學方式(亦即經由電腦)程式化及控制或視情況手動進行或兩者之組合。
多種黏著性化學物質可用於本發明之裝置及方法。實例包含(但不限於)基於聚胺基甲酸酯之系統、基於環氧化物之系統、基於丙烯酸酯之系統、基於邁克爾加成化學法(Michael addition chemistry)之系統及基於其混合化學法之系統。
基於聚胺基甲酸酯之系統中反應物1之實例包含(但不限於)芳族聚異氰酸酯,諸如亞甲基雙(異氰酸對苯酯)(MDI)、甲苯二異氰酸酯(TDI)、3,3-聯甲苯二異氰酸酯(TODI)、1,5-萘二異氰酸酯(NDI)及二異氰酸對伸苯酯(PPDI);及至少一種異氰酸酯與至少一種異氰酸酯反應性化合物(諸如聚胺基甲酸酯預聚物及聚脲預聚物)的反應產物。
在替代性非限制性實施例中,聚異氰酸酯亦可為脂族或環脂族聚異氰酸酯、其環狀二聚體及環狀三聚體及其混合物。適合脂族聚異氰酸酯之非限制性實例可包含(但不限於)1,4-雙(異氰酸酯基甲基)環己烷、1,3-雙(異氰酸酯基甲基)環己烷、異佛爾酮二異氰酸酯(IPDI)、二異氰酸環己酯(CHDI)、亞甲基雙(異氰酸對環己酯)(H12MDI)、1,3-雙(1-異氰酸酯基-1-甲基乙基)-苯、1,6-己烷二異氰酸酯、其脲二酮及三聚體異氰尿酸酯(諸如可購自Bayer之Desmodur N 3300(二異氰酸六亞甲酯三聚體)、Desmodur N 3400(60%二異氰
酸六亞甲酯二聚體及40%二異氰酸六亞甲酯三聚體))、其混合物及至少一種異氰酸酯與至少一種異氰酸酯反應性化合物(諸如聚胺基甲酸酯預聚物及聚脲預聚物)的反應產物。
基於聚胺基甲酸酯之系統中反應物2之實例包含(但不限於)聚醚多元醇、聚酯多元醇、聚碳酸酯多元醇、聚丁二烯多元醇、多羥基官能性聚丙烯酸酯及其共聚物及混合物,其分子量為300至25,000且官能性為2至8;及分子量少於300且官能性為2至8之短鏈二醇,諸如乙二醇二乙二醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、三甲基丙烷、二乙二醇、三乙二醇、四乙二醇、三丙二醇、1,2-丁二醇、1,3-丁二醇及1,4-丁二醇、2,2,4-三甲基-1,3-戊二醇、2-甲基-1,3-戊二醇、1,3-2,4-戊二醇及1,5-戊二醇、2,5-己二醇及1,6-己二醇、2,4-庚二醇、2-乙基-1,3-己二醇、2,2-二甲基-1,3-丙二醇、1,8-辛二醇、1,9-壬二醇、1,10-癸二醇、1,4-環己二醇、1,4-環己烷二甲醇、1,2-雙(羥基乙基)-環己烷及其異構體及混合物。
基於環氧化物之系統中反應物1之實例包含(但不限於)脂族、環脂族或芳族液體環氧樹脂或其混合物,諸如雙酚A或雙酚F二縮水甘油醚、己二醇二縮水甘油醚、環脂族二縮水甘油醚、三甲基丙烷三縮水甘油醚、1,4丁二烯二縮水甘油醚、環己烷二甲醇二縮水甘油醚以及高級脂族或芳族環氧樹脂及其混合物。
基於環氧化物之系統中反應物2之實例包含(但不限於)脂族胺、脂族胺加成物、氯胺酮、曼尼希鹼(Mannich base)加成物、聚醚胺、芳胺、聚醯胺、環脂族胺、醯胺基胺、羧酸官能性聚酯、酸酐、硫醇、環脒、氰酸酯及其混合物。
基於邁克爾加成化學法之系統中反應物1之實例包含(但不限於)含二、三及多α,β-不飽和羰基官能基之物質;二、三及多α,β-不飽和羰基官能基之物質及其混合物與環氧樹脂、聚異氰酸酯、聚胺基甲酸酯預聚物、丙烯酸胺基甲酸酯、丙烯酸聚酯、聚酯-丙烯酸胺基甲酸酯、丙烯酸多元醇丙烯酸酯及二、三及多官能丙烯酸酯之摻合物。
在一實施例中,β-二羰基化合物選自由以下組成之群:β-酮酯、β-二酮、β-酮醯胺、β-酮苯胺及其混合物。在另一實施例中,較佳β-二羰基化合物選自由以下組成之群:乙醯乙酸甲酯、乙醯乙酸乙酯、乙醯乙酸2-(甲氧基乙基)酯、乙醯乙酸縮水甘油酯、乙醯乙醯苯胺、2,4-戊二酮及其混合物。
在另一實施例中,較佳多官能丙烯酸酯選自由以下組成之群:三羥甲基丙烷三丙烯酸酯、二-三羥甲基丙烷三丙烯酸酯、二丙二醇二丙烯酸酯、己二醇二丙烯酸酯、異戊四醇三丙烯酸酯、異戊四醇四丙烯酸酯、異氰尿酸酯三丙烯酸酯、雙酚A環氧二丙烯酸酯、環氧酚醛清漆聚丙烯酸酯、胺甲酸酯二丙烯酸酯、聚酯聚丙烯酸酯、金屬(甲基)丙烯酸酯及其混合物。
基於邁克爾加成化學法之系統中反應物2之實例包含(但不限於)二、三及多硫醇;二及/或三聚胺及其混合物;含二、三及多乙醯乙醯氧基物質及其混合物。
可使用之其他反應物包含碳醯胺封端之物質及二、三及多脂族或芳族醛。
可用於本發明之裝置及方法的其他化學物質為固化化學物質,諸如聚異氰酸酯與環氧化物物質或丙烯酸酯
之摻合物,其用多元醇與胺之摻合物固化,或其他質子供體物質。
清潔系統中所用之溶劑通常選自由以下組成之群:二元酯;多元醇;短鏈二醇,諸如乙二醇、二乙二醇、二丙二醇、二苯甲酸二乙二醇酯、己醇之二酯、二對苯二甲酸酯、乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、丙酮、甲基乙基酮、甲基丁基酮、二甲苯、甲苯及其組合。
在各種實施例中,可用於清潔系統中之第一溶劑包含(但不限於)二元酯;多元醇;短鏈二醇,諸如乙二醇、二乙二醇、二丙二醇、二乙二醇二苯甲酸酯、己醇之二酯、二對苯二甲酸酯及其混合物。
在各種實施例中,清潔系統中之第二溶劑可選自由以下組成之群:乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、丙酮、甲基乙基酮、甲基丁基酮、二甲苯、甲苯及其組合。

Claims (11)
- 一種用於在層壓機之兩個輥之間分配物質的裝置,其包括:a)至少兩個反應物儲槽,各反應物儲槽具有齒輪泵;b)連接於所述齒輪泵之混合器;c)連接於所述混合器之分配噴嘴;d)安裝於適於位在所述層壓機之兩個輥之間的軌道上的位準偵測器;及e)至少一個連接於所述混合器之溶劑儲存容器。
- 如請求項1所述之裝置,其中所述位準偵測器以電子學方式連接於所述反應物儲槽之所述齒輪泵。
- 如請求項1所述之裝置,其中所述混合器之混合速度在1000rpm至8000rpm範圍內。
- 一種用於在層壓機之兩個輥之間分配物質的方法,其包括:a)釋放來自各別反應物儲槽之至少兩種反應物;b)使所述反應物與混合速度在1000rpm至8000rpm範圍內之混合器接觸;及c)在所述混合器中混合所述反應物少於60秒,形成混合產物;d)將所述混合產物置於分配噴嘴中;e)將來自所述分配噴嘴之混合產物分配於所述兩個輥之間;f)中斷所述反應物之釋放;g)自第一溶劑儲存容器釋放第一溶劑; h)使所述第一溶劑與所述混合器接觸;i)將所述第一溶劑置於所述分配噴嘴中;j)將來自所述分配噴嘴之所述第一溶劑分配在所述兩個輥之間;k)中斷所述第一溶劑之釋放;及l)重複步驟a)至e)。
- 如請求項4項所述之方法,其中在步驟k)中中斷所述第一溶劑之釋放後,用自第二溶劑儲存容器釋放之第二溶劑重複步驟g)至k),所述第二溶劑不同於所述第一溶劑。
- 如請求項4或5所述之方法,其中分配在所述兩個輥之間的所述物質為選自以下之群的層壓黏著劑:聚胺基甲酸酯黏著劑、環氧化物黏著劑、丙烯酸酯黏著劑及其混合黏著劑。
- 如請求項4或5所述之方法,其中所述至少兩種反應物中之一者包括選自由以下組成之群的第一反應物:亞甲基二苯基二異氰酸酯、甲苯二異氰酸酯、二異氰酸六亞甲酯、異佛爾酮二異氰酸酯、環脂族異氰酸酯、聚異氰酸酯、脂族聚胺基甲酸酯預聚物、芳族聚胺基甲酸酯預聚物及其混合物。
- 如請求項4或5所述之方法,其中所述至少兩種反應物中之一者包括選自由以下組成之群的第二反應物:聚醚多元醇、聚酯多元醇、聚碳酸酯多元醇、聚丁二烯多元醇及其共聚物及混合物、乙二醇、二乙二醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、新戊二醇、1,4丁二醇、1,6己二醇、三甲基丙烷及其混合物。
- 如請求項4或5所述之方法,其中所述第一及/或第二溶劑選自由以下組成之群:二元酯、多元醇、乙二醇、二乙二醇、二丙二醇、二苯甲酸二乙二醇酯、己醇之二酯、二對苯二甲酸酯、乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、丙酮、甲基乙基酮、甲基丁基酮、二甲苯、甲苯及其混合物。
- 一種由層壓機製備之層壓物,其中藉由如請求項1所述之裝置向所述層壓機傳遞物質。
- 一種層壓機裝置,其包括複數個輥且進一步包括如請求項1所述之裝置。
