Abstract
This invention provides the technique that uses negative ions to maintain freshness of food stored in a refrigerator, which can obtained the intended effect without continuous operation of a negative ion generator. With a control equipment (4), when a door opening and closing detection device (3) detects that a door (2) of the refrigerator is opened, the negative ion generator (1) is controlled to start operation, so as to actuate the negative ion generator during the period that the bacteria may possibly enter the refrigerator with the outside air so as to disinfect the bacteria. Accordingly, the freshness of the food stored in the refrigerator may be maintained. As compared to the operation method where the negative ion generator is operated continuously, this invention reduces power consumption while prolonging the lifespan of the negative ion generator substantially.
