Abstract

A caisson (10) primarily intended for temporary closing of a window opening (36) on the outside of a house when performing repair, washing or other types of window work. The caisson comprises a foldable, closed frame (12) made up of frame pieces (14, 16, 18, 20) that are flexibly connected with each other. The frame is dimensioned in such a way that it can be easily attached against the facade (52) outside of the window opening when extended. The caisson also comprises at least one piece of sheeting (340) or the like that is fixed to and stretches over the frame. An outer rod (42) or the like, positioned to allow engagement against the frame (12), and in inner rod (44) or the like, positioned to allow engagement against the inside of the house, are also part of the caisson (10). A tensioner (46) working between the rods is designed to press the rods towards each other when the caisson is mounted.
