Abstract

The cutter consists of several discs (1, 2, 3) with plane-parallel end faces (5, 6) and helical toothed rims (1a, 2a, 3a). The toothed rims (1a, 2a, 3a) are fitted with interchangeable indexable carbide inserts (10, 11) arranged in a staggered-tooth manner. Through these features, a hobbing cutter of maximum efficiency is obtained which is suitable for producing large tooth systems. <IMAGE>
