Abstract
【解決手段】 非画像トナー量特定部41は、画像形成前の帯電バイアスおよび現像バイアスの上昇時、並びに画像形成後の帯電バイアスおよび現像バイアスの下降時の少なくとも一方において感光体ドラム1a(1b,1c,1d)に付着した非画像トナーを、中間転写ベルト4に1次転写させ、センサー8の出力に基づいて、非画像トナーの量を特定する。トナー量管理部42は、特定された前記非画像トナーの量を含めてトナー消費量またはトナー残量を特定する。

Claims (3)
- 感光体ドラムと、
前記感光体ドラム上に光を照射して静電潜像を形成する露光装置と、
帯電バイアスで前記感光体ドラムを帯電させる帯電装置と、
現像バイアスでトナーを保持し、前記静電潜像に前記トナーを付着させる現像ローラーと、
前記静電潜像に前記トナーが付着して得られるトナー像を1次転写される中間転写体と、
前記中間転写体上のトナーを検出するセンサーと、
画像形成前の前記帯電バイアスおよび前記現像バイアスの上昇時、および画像形成後の前記帯電バイアスおよび前記現像バイアスの下降時の少なくとも一方において前記感光体ドラムに付着した非画像トナーを前記中間転写体に1次転写させ、前記センサーの出力に基づいて前記非画像トナーの量を特定する非画像トナー量特定部と、
特定された前記非画像トナーの量を含めてトナー消費量またはトナー残量を特定するトナー量管理部と、
を備えることを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記非画像トナー量特定部は、特定された前記非画像トナーの量、並びに画像形成前の前記帯電バイアスおよび前記現像バイアスの上昇、並びに画像形成後の前記帯電バイアスおよび前記現像バイアスの下降の少なくとも一方の回数に基づいて、前記非画像トナーの総量を特定し、
前記トナー量管理部は、特定した前記総量を含めてトナー消費量またはトナー残量を特定すること、
を特徴とする請求項1記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記非画像トナー量特定部は、前記センサーにより検出される前記非画像トナーの濃度および副走査方向の長さに基づいて、前記非画像トナーの量を特定することを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2記載の画像形成装置。
