Abstract
Description
第1の層は、いかなる充填剤も伴わずに、ポリオレフィン、熱可塑性デンプン(デンプン+可塑剤)、及び相溶化剤を含む。第1の層を製造するために使用される原材料(すなわち、ポリオレフィン、熱可塑性デンプン(デンプン+可塑剤)、及び相溶化剤)は、熱可塑性デンプン組成物と呼ばれる。熱可塑性デンプン組成物は、一段階で、いかなる予混合またはマスターバッチングもなしですべての原材料を混合装置に供給して製造され、混合されペレットを形成するか、あるいは第1の層を形成する。この一段階の工程は、同じ組成物を製造する他の従来の方法よりも好都合である。これは、これらの従来の方法のほとんどが2つ以上の製造段階を使用するためである。単一の製造段階を使用することは、他の商業的製造方法と比較した場合、より速く、より効率的な製造という点で好都合であり、より廃棄物が少ないという結果をもたらす。第1の層は、いかなる充填剤も含まない。
第2の層及び/または第3の層は、ポリオレフィン及び充填剤を含む。これらの層はいかなるデンプンも含まない。第2の層及び/または第3の層に含まれるポリオレフィンは、上記に記載されている。ある例示的な実施形態では、第2の層及び/または第3の層に使用したポリオレフィンは線状低密度ポリエチレンである。第2の層及び/または第3の層に使用されるポリオレフィンは、第2の層の総重量に基づき、または第3の層の総重量に基づき、それぞれ40〜95重量パーセント(重量%)、好ましくは45〜80重量%、及びより好ましくは50〜65重量%の量である。
本実施例は、開示された多層物品の製造と共に特性を実証するために実施された。表1、2、及び3は使用した名称を示し、以下にいくつかの原材料の成分の詳細を示す。
Claims (12)
- 熱可塑性ポリマーを含む第1の層であって、前記熱可塑性ポリマーはポリオレフィン、相溶化剤、及び熱可塑性デンプンを含み、前記第1の層はいかなる充填剤も含まない、第1の層と、
ポリオレフィン及び充填剤を含む第2の層であって、いかなる熱可塑性デンプンも含まない、第2の層と、
を含む多層物品。 - 前記充填剤が炭酸カルシウムであり、前記熱可塑性デンプンが小麦デンプンを含む、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 前記ポリオレフィンが、0.905g/cm3〜0.940g/cm3の密度を有する線状低密度ポリエチレンである、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 前記第1の層の総重量に基づき、前記線状低密度ポリエチレンが50〜90重量%の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 前記第1の層の総重量に基づき、前記相溶化剤が10重量%未満の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 第3の層をさらに含み、前記第3の層が、前記第2の層に接触する表面と反対の前記第1の層の表面上に配置され、前記第1の層、前記第2の層、及び前記第3の層がそれぞれ線状低密度ポリエチレンを含む、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 前記物品が、23℃及び75%の相対湿度でASTM D3985で試験した場合、2750〜3200cm3/m2日の酸素透過性を示す、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 前記物品が、ASTM D1709で測定した200〜600グラムのダート衝撃強度、ASTM D1922で測定した場合400〜900グラムの流れ方向エルメンドルフN50、及びASTM D1922で測定した場合1050〜1300グラムの幅方向エルメンドルフN50を示す、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 前記物品が、ASTM D3985で試験した場合、同様の厚さを有し、同一の熱可塑性デンプン及び充填剤含有量を含むが、前記熱可塑性デンプン及び前記充填剤が全層に存在する比較物品よりも、6〜100%低い酸素透過性を示す、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 前記物品が、ASTM D1709で測定した場合、同様の厚さを有し、同一の熱可塑性デンプン及び充填剤含有量を含むが、前記熱可塑性デンプン及び前記充填剤が全層に存在する比較物品に対して、ダート衝撃強度が44〜167%の増加を示す、請求項1に記載の多層物品。
- 多層物品を製造する方法であって、
第1の層及び第2の層を共押出することであって、前記第1の層がポリオレフィン、相溶化剤、及び熱可塑性デンプンを含み、いかなる充填剤も含まず、前記第2の層がポリオレフィン及び充填剤を含み、いかなる熱可塑性デンプンも含まず、前記第1の層が前記第2の層に接触する、共押出すること、
を含む方法。 - 前記第1の層を前記第2の層と積層させることをさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
