Abstract
Description
本願は、米国仮特許出願第61/147,725号(2009年1月27日出願)および米国仮特許出願第61/181,194号(2009年1月27日出願)の利益を主張し、両出願は、その全体が本明細書に参考として援用される。
本発明は、概して、エネルギー貯蔵デバイス(ESD)に関し、より具体的には、本発明は、可変体積格納(variable volume containment)を組み込んでいるESDに関する。
Claims (20)
- エネルギー貯蔵デバイス(ESD)であって、
複数の双極電極ユニットの積層であって、各電極ユニットは、
伝導性基板と、
該伝導性基板の第1の表面上の正極活物質電極層と、
該伝導性基板の第2の表面上の負極活物質電極層と
を備える、双極電極ユニットの積層と、
各対の隣接する電極ユニットの間に提供される電解質層と、
該電解質層の各々の周りに配置される可撓性ガスケットであって、該ガスケットは、所定の態様で機械的に変形可能である、ガスケットと
を備える、ESD。 - 前記可撓性ガスケットは、ESDの動作の間、前記正極活物質電極層と前記負極活物質電極層との電極間間隔を維持する、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 前記可撓性ガスケットは、前記正極活物質電極層と前記負極活物質電極層との相互に対する移動を最小にする、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 複数のバネをさらに備え、該バネは、前記ESD内の圧力の増加に応答して偏向するように構成される、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 各電解質層内に隔離板をさらに備え、該隔離板は、それぞれの正極活物質電極層をそれぞれの負極活物質電極層から電気的に絶縁する、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 前記ガスケットから半径方向外向きに配置される硬質停止部をさらに備える、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 前記硬質停止部は、棚部を有する内側リムを備え、該棚部の上に、前記複数の電極のそれぞれの外側縁が整列させられる、請求項6に記載のESD。
- 前記内側リム上の棚部は、前記ESDの隣接する電極間の間隔を設定する、請求項7に記載のESD。
- 前記硬質停止部は、
複数のスタッドと、
複数のスタッド穴と
をさらに備え、該複数のスタッド穴は、それぞれのスタッドを隣接する硬質停止部上に係合するように適合される、請求項6に記載のESD。 - 前記スタッドは、前記スタッド穴に係合することにより、ツールを使用せずに隣接する硬質停止部を整列させるように適合される、請求項9に記載のESD。
- 前記複数のスタッドは、前記基板が前記積層アセンブリの積層方向と共線の軸上に中心を置く状態を維持することによって、該基板の基板フランジを前記硬質停止部に整列させる、請求項9に記載のESD。
- 前記硬質停止部は、複数の圧縮ボルトのための一組の穴を有する外側リムを備え、該穴は、組み立ての間、電極の積層を整列させ、前記ESDの動作の間、安定性を提供する、請求項6に記載のESD。
- 前記所定の方向が、前記電極の表面に垂直である積層方向である、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 前記所定の方向は、積層方向から半径方向外向きである、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 前記所定の方向は、軸外の方向である、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 前記可撓性ガスケットは、複数の所定の方向を有する、請求項1に記載のESD。
- 前記ガスケットの変形は、前記ESD内の圧力を均一化しつつ、最適な電極間間隔を維持することによって、該ESDの各セル内の内部応力を低減させる、請求項1に記載のESD。
- エネルギー貯蔵デバイス(ESD)であって、その中の電極間間隔が維持される該ESDは、
複数のセル区画であって、各セル区画は、
第1の活物質電極層を有する第1の伝導性基板と、
第2の活物質電極層を有する第2の伝導性基板と、
該第1と第2の活物質電極層との間に提供される電解質層と
を備える、セル区画と、
複数の硬質停止部であって、各伝導性基板がそれぞれの硬質停止部上に固定して配置されており、該硬質停止部は、該ESDの該電極間間隔を設定するように構成される、硬質停止部と
を備える、ESD。 - 前記ESDの各端部に提供される整列リングをさらに備え、該整列リングは、複数のボルトのための複数のボルト穴を備え、該ボルトは、前記複数のセル区画の各々を整列させる、請求項18に記載のESD。
- 前記複数のセル区画の各々の電極間間隔は、各セル区画内のそれぞれの第1および第2の活物質電極層に基づいて変化する、請求項18に記載のESD。
