Abstract
Description
表1は、3種の一時間作業(読書、顕微鏡使用、およびコンピュータ作業)の、角膜光学に対する相対的な影響を示す表である。
本発明者らは、眼の成長を制御するための新規な光学的方法および新規な機械的方法を確認した。上記のように、近視は一般に、眼が長く成長し過ぎることにより生じる。眼の成長を制御することは、制御の任意の局面(例えば、眼の成長の抑制、眼の成長の促進、眼の成長の操作および眼の成長の調節)を含む。
ヒドロゲル(ソフトレンズ) 3〜20kg/cm2;
シリコーンヒドロゲル 20〜100kg/cm2;
硬質ガス透過性レンズ 200〜1000kg/cm2。
年齢範囲21〜28歳の6人の被検体(女性4人、男性2人、平均年齢24歳)がこの研究に参加した。各被検体の右眼を測定に使用し、これらの被検体のうち5人は近視であり、1人は正視であった。全被検体は、対数視力が少なくとも0またはそれより良好な最良矯正視力を有していた。一次細隙灯検査を実施して、全ての被検体が正常な角膜特性を有し、前眼部疾患を有さないことを確認した。全被検体は、硬質ガス透過性コンタクトレンズを装着したことがなかった。ソフトコンタクトレンズの装着者に、この研究の少なくとも3日前にはコンタクトレンズを外すように指示した。
角膜の高さ、屈折力および瞬間度数(instantaneous power)のデータを、続く解析のために、ビデオケラトスコープからエクスポートした。測定セッション毎に撮った6つのビデオケラトスコープを、先に記載された方法(Buehren T.,Collins M.J.,Carney L.,(2003),角膜収差と読書(Corneal aberrations and reading),Optometry and Vision Science;80:159−66)に従って平均化した。
読書時の眼位において、瞼は、角膜トポグラフィーにおける変化を引き起こし、その大きさは読書時間の長さに関連する。すなわち、連続した読書の時間が長くなるほど、角膜トポグラフィー変化が大きくなる。これらのトポグラフィー変化の回帰は、最初の10分以内に変化の有意な減少が起こり、その後ゆっくりと回帰がおこるといった、異なる読書期間の後に類似のパターンを示した。10分間の読書の後、角膜トポグラフィー変化は、10分以内に大部分がなくなり、一方、120分間の連続した読書の後では、トポグラフィー変化が消失するのに約120分かかった。一般に、角膜変化のベースラインレベルへの回帰にかかる時間は、その人が連続した読書に費やした時間とほぼ同じ量が必要である。

- 中心レンズおよび外側領域を備えるコンタクトレンズであって、前記外側領域は、瞼により目にかかる力を分散させる肥厚化領域を備える、コンタクトレンズ。
- 前記肥厚化領域は、水平バンドを備える、請求項1に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- 前記水平バンドは、下視における前記瞼の位置に対応する位置に位置する、請求項2に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- 前記肥厚化領域は、前記外側領域全体である、請求項1に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- 前記肥厚化領域は、前記コンタクトレンズ全体である、請求項1に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- 中心レンズおよび外側領域を備えるコンタクトレンズであって、前記中心レンズは、瞼により眼にかかる力を分散させる高弾性率領域を備える、コンタクトレンズ。
- 中心レンズおよび外側領域を備えるコンタクトレンズであって、前記外側領域は、瞼により眼にかかる力を分散させる高弾性率領域を備える、コンタクトレンズ。
- 前記外側領域は、通常の弾性率の領域をさらに備える、請求項7に記載のコンタクトレンズ。

- 近業前の眼の第一の波面収差を測定し、近業後の前記眼の第二の波面収差を測定することにより設計される光学デバイス。
