Abstract
【解決手段】自発光表示パネル15内の自発光素子48の検出電圧は、画素検出スイッチ47と双方向信号線10’を介して、データ線駆動回路9内の選択スイッチ44を通り検出回路45で検出される。この検出動作は、電源投入時と帰線期間を利用して行う。

Claims (10)
- 表示パネル上に、マトリクス状に配置された自発光素子と、前記自発光素子を駆動する走査線駆動回路及びデータ線駆動回路と、前記データ線駆動回路と前記表示パネルとを接続する信号線とを備えた表示装置において、
前記データ線駆動回路は、信号線を介して、前記表示装置の起動又は電源投入時に、自発光素子の状態を検出すると共に、表示動作時の帰線期間に、自発光素子の状態を検出することを特徴とする表示装置 - 前記データ線駆動回路には、選択スイッチが設けられ、前記選択スイッチを切り替えることで、表示動作と検出動作を行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置
- 前記選択スイッチは、表示選択スイッチと検出選択スイッチとからなることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置
- 前記検出選択スイッチは、検出用電流源が接続された検出線に接続されていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置
- 前記自発光素子には、画素検出スイッチが設けられ、前記画素検出スイッチを切り替えることで、各自発光素子の状態を検出することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置
- 表示パネル上に、マトリクス状に配置された自発光素子と、前記自発光素子を駆動する走査線駆動回路及びデータ線駆動回路と、前記データ線駆動回路と前記表示パネルとを接続する信号線とを備えた表示装置において、
前記自発光素子の劣化特性又は発光特性を検出する検出回路と、
前記自発光素子の劣化特性又は発光特性に応じて前記自発光素子の発光を補正するデータ制御回路とを備え、
前記検出回路は、当該表示装置の起動又は電源投入から所定期間内は、前記表示パネルの一部の自発光素子の劣化特性又は発光特性を検出し、帰線期間内は、前記表示パネルの前記一部の自発光素子以外の他の自発光素子、又は前記表示パネルの前記一部の自発光素子と前記他の自発光素子を含む自発光素子、又は前記表示パネルの全自発光素子の劣化特性又は発光特性を検出することを特徴とする表示装置 - 前記検出回路は、前記自発光素子に定電圧を印加した場合の前記自発光素子に流れる電流を検出することによって、又は前記自発光素子に定電流を流した場合の前記自発光素子に印加される電圧を検出することによって、前記自発光素子の劣化特性又は発光特性を検出することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置
- 前記検出回路は、当該表示装置の起動又は電源投入から所定期間内は、前記表示パネルの前記一部の自発光素子に表示データを表示せずに劣化特性又は発光特性を検出し、前記表示パネルの前記他の自発光素子に表示データを表示することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置
- 前記検出回路が前記自発光素子の劣化特性又は発光特性を検出するための帰線期間は、当該表示装置の起動又は電源投入から所定期間を経過した後の帰線期間であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置
- 前記検出回路が当該表示装置の起動又は電源投入から所定期間内に検出する前記表示パネルの一部の自発光素子は、所定のパターンの表示データを表示するために定められた所定の領域、又は前記表示パネルの奇数列の自発光素子もしくは偶数列の自発光素子もしくは奇数行の自発光素子もしくは偶数行の自発光素子、又は前記表示パネルの所定の列数を飛ばした所定の列数の自発光素子もしくは所定の行数を飛ばした所定の行数の自発光素子であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置
