Abstract
【解決手段】 電極1,2間に発光層4と発光層4にホールまたは電子を輸送する輸送層3,5とを少なくとも設けて形成される有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子に関する。このような有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子において、発光層4に電子受容性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有することを特徴とする。発光層4に電子受容性ド−パントとして機能する化合物を含有することによって、発光層4へのホールや電子の注入のバランスを最適にすることができる。

Description
基板10として、厚み0.7mmの透明ガラス板を用い、この基板10の一方の表面に、ITO(インジウム−スズ酸化物)をスパッタしてシ−ト抵抗10Ω/□の透明電極からなる陽極1を形成した。そしてこれを、純水、イソプロピルアルコ−ルで10分間超音波洗浄した後、乾燥させた。
実施例1と同様に陽極1を形成した基板10を真空蒸着装置にセットし、3×10−5Paの減圧下、4,4’−ビス[N,N’−(3−トリル)アミノ]−3,3’−ジメチルビフェニル(新日鐵化学株式会社製:「HMTPD」と略す)を450Å厚に蒸着し、陽極1の上にホ−ル輸送層3を形成した。
実施例1と同様に陽極1を形成した基板10を真空蒸着装置にセットし、3×10−5Paの減圧下、「スピロ−TAD」を500Å厚に蒸着し、陽極1の上にホ−ル輸送層3を形成した。
実施例1と同様に陽極1を形成した基板10を真空蒸着装置にセットし、3×10−5Paの減圧下、「HMTPD」を450Å厚に蒸着し、陽極1の上にホ−ル輸送層3を形成した。

Claims (11)
- 電極間に発光層と発光層にホールまたは電子を輸送する輸送層とを少なくとも設けて形成される有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子において、発光層に電子受容性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有して成ることを特徴とする有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 発光層の一部に電子受容性ドーパントとして機能する化合物が含有されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 発光層に、電子受容性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有する部位と、発光性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有する部位とを有することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 電子受容性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有する部位と、発光性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有する部位との間に、発光層ホスト材料のみからなる部位を有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 電子受容性ドーパントとして機能する化合物が金属酸化物であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 金属酸化物が、酸化バナジウム、酸化モリブデン、酸化レニウム、酸化タングステンから選ばれるものであることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 電極間に発光層と発光層にホールまたは電子を輸送する輸送層とを少なくとも設けて形成される有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子において、発光層に電子供与性ドーパントとして機能する物質を含有して成ることを特徴とする有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 発光層の一部に電子供与性ドーパントとして機能する物質が含有されていることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 発光層に電子供与性ドーパントとして機能する物質を含有する部位と、発光性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有する部位とを有することを特徴とする請求項7又は8に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 電子供与性ドーパントとして機能する物質を含有する部位と、発光性ドーパントとして機能する化合物を含有する部位との間に、発光層ホスト材料のみからなる部位を有することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 電子供与性ドーパントとして機能する物質が、アルカリ金属、アルカリ土類金属、希土類金属からなる群から選択された1種以上の金属であることを特徴とする請求項7乃至10のいずれかに記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
