998,832. Injection moulding footwear. H. LUDWIG, [trading as DEUTSCHE SPEZIALMASCHINEN CO. H. LUDWIG KOMM.-GES.]. May 7, 1962 [May 8, 1961; June 5, 1961], No. 24406/64. Divided out of 982,797. Heading B5A. Apparatus for injection moulding a plastics sole on to an upper mounted on a last comprises two or more lasts 13, 141 mounted on a rotary head 142 and displaceable vertically to co-operate with a stationary mould 12. The rotary head 142 is mounted on a carrier 149 which is displaced vertically by means of a piston 148. When the carrier 149 is raised the axis 145 of rotation of the head 142 is moved to a horizontal position (Fig. 5, not shown). The head 142 is then rotated by a pressure operated motor 155. Each last has a separate heel portion which is movable when the last is in position III (Fig. 3) by means of a piston 156 mounted in the carrier 149.
