Abstract

971,565. Cartons. WOVIT CONTAINERS Ltd. March 26, 1963 [April 6, 1962], No. 13379/62. Heading B8P. A carton of the kind having walls upstanding from a rectangular base has one of every two wall end parts at the corners of the tray provided with an opentopped vertical pocket and the other of the two wall end parts provided with a flap which is tucked into the pocket to secure the carton. The carton is made from a single blank, the pockets being formed from the extensions 6 of the side walls 2 and the flaps 14 being on the side walls 4. The pockets may extend above or below wall level and cartons may be stacked. As shown, the pockets are of less height than the walls, the walls 4 being flexible enough to pass outside the base of a carton above. Ventilation holes and a hinged lid or closure flaps may be provided. According to the Provisional Specification the carton base may be of hexagonal shape.
