Abstract

<PICT:0970397/C6-C7/1> Apparatus for treating the inside of a hollow, closed body with a gas vapour or liquid comprises a closed housing having a mounting for the body and provision for maintaining a predetermined temperature within the casing and pipes for circulating the fluid into and out of the body. As shown, a casing 15 has a mounting comprising a cage, which may be rotatable, for the body 1 and pipes 21, 211 for the inflow and outflow respectively of the treating fluid which may be a pickling gas or a paint, a pivoting packing 24 being provided to allow the pipes to rotate with the body. A further pipe 22 connected to a pivoting packing 25 may be provided for connecting the interior of the body to atmosphere or a vacuum. The temperature within the casing may be maintained at the predetermined value by the admission of a gas from sleeves 26 which gas is extracted by a fan 27.
