978,109. Hinges and pivots. CARRARA & MATTA S.p.A. Dec. 9, 1963 [Dec. 14, 1962], No. 48586/63. Heading E2F. A hinge support device for glass doors and mirrors of, for example, bathroom cabinets, comprises a flexible metal band 3 carrying hinge members, and having each of its ends 3a (only one shown) bent in U-form to engage opposite edges of the door 2, and having a goose-neck 3b formed therein, a bolt 4 extending through aligned holes in the goose-neck and engaging a nut so as to traction the band 3. In an embodiment, Fig. 1, the hinge members comprise a pivot pin 5 (only one shown) extending outwardly from each U-shaped end of the band 3 and being received in a cavity in the cabinet. In another embodiment, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), the hinge members comprise a hinge element attached to a wing projecting from the band, in the same plane as, and at right angles to, the band.
