Abstract

1501466 Hold-open door hinges E D SCHARWACHTER KG 27 March 1975 [2 April 1974] 12928/75 Heading E2F A hold open hinge particularly for vehicle doors comprises hinge members 2, 3 pivoted at 1 and mounted on door 4 and frame respectively, an extension 5 secured to the member 3 and an arm 9 pivoted at 10 to a bracket 8 mounted on the member 3 and biassed by a compression spring 12 into engagement with the extension 5 when the door is open. Rollers 19, 20 are mounted on the arm 9 defining a partially open position when the extension 5 engages between them and a fully open position between roller 20 and member 3. A protrusion 6 on extension 5 engages member 3 as an end stop. Only one roller may be used or the arm may have a profiled edge. In another embodiment (Fig. 4 not shown) a single roller is employed at one end of the arm, the arm is pivoted near its centre and the spring acts on the other end of the arm.
