Abstract

937,537. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. J. MORISSEAU. Oct. 21, 1960 [Oct. 31, 1959], No. 36204/60. Class 135. A two fluid mixing valve coinprises inlets 2a, 2b, Fig. 1, and an outlet communicating with a chamber 5. The flow from the inlets to the chamber 5 is controlled by valves A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP>, each comprising a main diaphragm valve 9, Fig. 4, co-operating with a seating 8 of a passage 7, and a pilot valve B<SP>1</SP>, having a stem 20. The diaphragm 9 is provided with an orifice 14 such that with the pilot valve closed the pressure holds the main valve closed and with the pilot valve open, the inlet pressure opens the main valve. A diaphragm 14a prevents backflow through the orifice. The pilot valve is opened by a rocking movement when a member C is rotated on a pin 31. The member C is provided with a slanting surface S, preferably frustoconical, whose axis is eccentric to that of the pin 31 and rotation of the member C is controlled by a thermally responsive spring 36 secured at one end to the member C and at its other end to a finger 39 rotatable by a handle 41a to set the required temperature of the mixture. The axial position of the member C can-be adjusted by the pin 31. If desired the member C may be rotated manually instead of through the spring. In a modification the valves are arranged coaxially.
