Abstract
929,303. Haymaking machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Nov. 23, 1959 [Dec. 3, 1958], No. 39663/59. Class 6(3). A rake-wheel type haymaking machine having at least a two-point connection with a towing vehicle is characterised in that one connecting point is displaceable relatively to the machine about a substantially horizontal pivot so as to occupy various alternative positions in the direction of travel. As shown, the vehicle is a tractor 13 having upper and lower hitch links 12 and 10, 11. The links 11, 12 are connected conventionally to the arched front end, Fig. 2, of the haymaking machine 1 by loose-fitting pivot-pins 24, 28. The nearside lower link 10 is connected to a pivot-pin 14 on the end of a lever 15 pivoted on a shaft 16 journalled on the arched part of the frame 1. The lever 15 has a slender resilient upward extension 18 terminating in a handle 19 accessible to the tractor driver. The extension co-operates with an arcuate detent 21 having notches 22. Movement of the lever 15, 18 angles the frame by moving the nearside connection longitudinally. For swath-turning, the rearpart of the main frame with two-rake-wheels 5, 6 can be moved into a parallel position (shown dotted in Fig. 1).
