Abstract

928,827. Supply systems for heating resistors. BROWN, BOVERI & CIE A.G. March 13, 1961 [June 8, 1960], No. 9173/61. Class 38 (4). An electric cooking appliance 1 connected to a mains supply P, P through a bi-metallic switch 2 heated by an adjustable series resistance 3 is changed from an initial to a continued boiling stage on/off ratio by a timedependent switch 5 the closing of which energizes a second resistance 4, thus supplying the bi-metallic switch 2 with additional constant heat. The time-dependent switch 5 is controlled by a mechanical or electric timing member 6. The resistance 3 may be provided with taps or have a variable resistance connected in parallel with it in order to vary its effective resistance.
