Abstract

640,106. Thermal switches. THERMEGA, Ltd., and SWINDELLS, V. E. Feb. 16, 1948, No. 4536. [Class 38(v)] The thermal switch of Specification 623,576 is modified in that means are provided to ensure that the heater winding or a part thereof, is always in circuit. In Fig. 3, a subsidiary heater 8 and a switch resistance 7 are connected in series with the variable resistance 5, the arrangement being such that, even if the latter is entirely cut out, the heater 8 and the resistance 7 are in shunt with the main heater 3. The resistance 7 and heater 8 may, alternatively, be used separately with the resistance 5, Figs. 1 and 2, (not shown). Specifications 585,590, 587,111 and 593,370 also are referred to.
