Abstract
1,230,008. Suspending curtains. W. HACHTEL. 19 Aug., 1968 [16 Sept., 1967], No. 39493/68. Heading A4B. A curtain runner 14 engages the rail at two positions spaced apart along the rail to resist tilting and has an integral, depending resilient bar 16 provided at its lower end with mushroom shaped formations 18 to support a curtain fastener 31, 32, the arrangement being such that the bar 16 deflects laterally relative to the remainder of the runner 14 in response to a pull on the curtain and thus alleviates binding of the runner in the rail. As shown, the runner may have guiding projections 26 engaged in the mouth 27 of a runner groove 24. In other embodiments (Figs. 1-4) the runner 14 is shaped to hook over a projecting rail (12). The runner may be slidable or may have rollers (13) engaged on the rail-(13).
