Abstract
903,127. Insulation for dynamo-electric machines. BROWN, BOVERI & CIE A.G. Aug. 17, 1960 [Aug. 17, 1959], No. 28534/60. Drawings to Specification. Class 35. The insulation surrounding conductors in the core slots of an electrical machine is prevented from thickening by arranging a layer of semiconducting material adjacent the insulation, and a second, similar layer in the core slot, and filling the space between them with a hardenable filling material which is also semi-conducting. The semi-conducting layers may comprise graphitized paper and the filling material may be a mixture of ethoxyline resin and graphitepowder. Semi-conducting materials are needed to prevent glow discharges between the insulation and the slot wall.
