Abstract

878,922. Protective arrangements; automatic voltage regulation. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO. Ltd. Aug. 24, 1959 [Nov. 25, 1958], No. 38011/58. Class 38 (4). A protective arrangement for a D.C. load 3, 4, subjected to high-voltage transients from a supply 1, 2 comprises a transistor 5 connected to impedances Z 1 -Z 3 , as shown, and controlled by a voltage regulating transistor 6 having its base connected to a biasing circuit comprising a D.C. source 8 and resistor 7. Normal voltage variations vary the impedance of transistor 5 through transistor 6, but transients are passed directly to transistor 6, thus tending to cut it off.
