Abstract
878,916. Tubular heat exchangers. HUET, A. March 31, 1959 [April 25, 1958], No. 10849/59. Class 64(3) [Also in Groups XXII and XL(a)] Tubes for a heat exchanger have longitudinal grooves b forming ridges c and have a cross-section as shown in which one face d bulges outwardly further than the other face e so that when the tubes are disposed as in Fig. 3 fluid flowing in direction F passes through constrictions H-H and passages of maximum section I-I. The grooves are of a trapezoidal shape and may also be formed circumferentially or helically so that the surface of the tubes presents a series of studs. The grooves may also be in the form of corrugations.
