Abstract

1,089,962. Heat exchanger tubes. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. Oct.27, 1964 [Nov. 9, 1963], No.43721/64. Heading F4S. A heat exchanger tube has internal fins shaped as shown and proportioned to satisfy the inequality where b is the distance between adjacent fin tips, h is the height of the fin, and r is the radius at the root of the fin, the dimension 2r being substantially 20% greater than h. Preferably also b is approximately equal to h and the thickness of the tube wall 3 at the root of the fins. The tube is intended for use in a surface steam condenser in which cooling water passes through the tubes.
