Abstract

861,050. Spring clips; cotters &c. F.T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 2, 1959 [Feb. 5, 1958], No. 3796/58. Classes 44 and 89(2). A fastener for joining two members 22, 23, together so that one can pivot with respect to the other, comprises a strip of spring-metal, part of which is formed into a U-section 10, Fig. 1, the remaining portion being bent to a substantially box-shaped-section having a long side 12 and ends 13, 11. In the limbs of the U-section and the side 12 are coaxial-holes 17-19, the holes in the outer-limbs of the section having circumferential-prongs 20, 21, directed inwardly. The flat-member 22 is a loose fit in the U-section so that a hole 24 therein is in alignment with the holes 17-19, when the crank 25 of the rodmember 23 is forced through the holes in the fastener and the flat-member to the working- position, the prongs grip the rod and retain it in this position.
