Abstract

858,097. Two-part couplings. J. F. J. PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 12, 1958, No. 4609/58. Class 38 (1) A coaxial plug or socket includes a resilient insulating body 1 in which is embedded a socket (or pin) contact 3 having a terminal portion 4, a segment 7 of the body being removable so as to expose the portion 4 for correction thereto of the inner conductor of a coaxial cable 16, Fig. 5 by threading through holes 5, 6. The segment 7 is hinged to the body by a portion 8 and is clamped in position on the body by pushing the assembly into a metal cylinder 12 round which is moulded an insulating liner 13 and collar 14. The outer conductor 19 of the cable 16 is clamped to the cylinder 12 by a cap 15. In the case of a coaxial plug the cylinder 12 projects beyond the collar 14 and an insert with a pin is used.
